Dear Community Friend,

In my last email, I shared headlines from our Advisory Committee envisioning Cleveland in 10 years if our region were to commit now to supporting, valuing, amplifying, and celebrating women. SVP Cleveland believes deeply in our collective potential and ability to do the necessary work to co-create a city with gender justice at the heart of our region’s policies and practices. In today’s email, I have a few updates on our organizational evolution to support this vision as well as some exciting news.

The evolutionary process has been dynamic, necessary, and demanding. Fortunately, with guidance from our Advisory Committee and community members, we’re currently building a framework for how best to structure our work moving forward. I wanted to take a minute to share a few updates with you on our planning and launch timeline:

• • • At the beginning of this year, we invited 15 amazing, local women leaders to join our Advisory Committee and guide us in shaping our strategic priorities and direction. 
    • Since then, we have held monthly meetings with the Advisory Committee.
    • Committee members have brought their range of experiences and insights to discussions on gaps and potential opportunities including exploration of how we can: 
      • • • • • be additive in supporting current and future community leaders;
              • advocate for change on a systems level; and
              • create a space for you and other community members to engage with these issues in a unique, collective way.
    • Findings from these discussions are directly shaping our work going forward.
    • The full framework, program pilots, a new website, and more will be announced at the beginning of 2024, with immediate opportunities for you to learn more and engage with us!

Also, as SVP’s work is transforming, so is our identity! We’re excited to share that we’ll be launching a new name and visual style that more clearly align with our organizational aspirations! The new name will be announced with a bit of fanfare in early fall! Stay tuned!
