Nature Tots and Nature Kids programs will not be happening until the Visitor Center is open to the public.
Volunteers Needed! The Friends must help set up the luminarias on the afternoon of December 19 and help pick them up on the morning of December 20. The event will be held in the evening of December 19. Contact Forest Graber at forest@friendsofvalledeoro.org to sign up and to obtain information on how you will be able to help. If we cannot get enough volunteers ahead of time, the luminaria event will not happen. This has been one of the Refuge's biggest and most popular events in recent years. So please come out and help!
Fall is a beautiful time to visit Valle de Oro! Trails and restrooms remain accessible to the public, and gates will operate and allow access within regular hours (daily one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset). The Valle de Oro NWR Visitor Center remains closed due to lapse of appropriations.
