MALI ON THE MESA

This Saturday at Taos Mesa Brewing Mothership Enchanted Evenings FREE music series: Vieux Farka Touré, Brent Barry & the Neighbors opening, starting at 7pm.

Vieux Farka Touré is a Malian guitarist and singer known for blending traditional West African music with blues and rock, earning him nickname "The Hendrix of the Sahara."

Brent Barry & The Neighbors = Jimmie Killingsworth on mandolin and Peter Oviatt on 5 string banjo. Playing jumpblues, originals and good ole bluegrass.  More event info here.

 It's the dose of cuteness that you didn't think you needed - a whole pack of 10-and-under kids joyfully running up Pioneer and back on a Sunday morning. It's a great way for kids to burn up some energy and it's right before the start of the challenging VertK, which is a great spectator sport too. A portion of the $10 registration will go to Enchanted Circle Trails Association, who provide exceptional safety assistance on race days. All runners get a finisher's medal and other cool swag! 🏅 Extra prizes for fastest boy & girl.
