The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the LORD and a day of vindication by our God. Is. 61:1-2A
Heaven's Gift The Comfort of a Mother
This past Tuesday we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. When Our Blessed Mother appeared in 1531, in what is now Mexico, the land was experiencing the clash of two very distinct cultures, as the Spanish had recently arrived. The indigenous people were dominated by a demonic cult that demanded horrific blood sacrifices in numbers that are difficult to fathom ---until we consider our current culture's abortion numbers.
Mary came as a Mother, carrying Her Son in Her womb. She did not demand sacrifices or penances. She offered the comfort of a loving Mother, full of tenderness, hope and consolation.
She knew that Her new children first needed to know Her. To know that the new Faith being presented to them was true and full of Love.
And perhaps the Spanish soldiers and clergy needed to be reminded that God is God and can do all things. This remains just as true for us today.
Read the Blessed Mother's words to Juan Diego and receive them as addressed to you.
The Blessed Mother's Words to Juan Diego
"Listen my son, little one. Know for certain, My son, the smallest one, that I am the perfect and Ever Virgin Holy Mary, Mother of the true God, through whom one lives, the Creator of mankind, the One Who owns what is near and beyond, the Owner of heaven and earth.
I ardently desire that here they build Me My sacred little house, a house of God, where I will show Him, I will exalt Him and make Him manifest. Where I will offer Him to all the people with all My love, My compassionate gaze and My help, My salvation.
Because I am truly your merciful Mother, yours, and Mother of all who live united in this land, and of all mankind, of all those who love Me, of those who cry to Me, of those who search for Me, of those who have confidence in Me.
There I will listen to their cry, to their sadness, so as to curb all their different pains, their miseries and sorrow, to remedy and alleviate their sufferings.
Now My son, My smallest one, you have heard My voice; go and do everything the best you can."
"Listen and keep in your heart, My youngest son, that there is nothing for you to fear, nothing to afflict you. Let neither your face nor your heart be worried. Do not fear this nor any other illness, nor anything pounding nor afflicting.
Am I not here, I who am your Mother? Are you not in My shadow, under My protection? Am I not the fountain of your joy? Are you not in the fold of My mantle, in My crossed arms? Is there anything else you need? Let nothing else afflict you, perturb you."

Over the years people have asked us for a way to memorialize their loved one out here at the Mission. We asked God to show us an appropriate means and we believe that He inspired us with an approach that would allow people to not just acknowledge their loved ones and support the Mission, but help remind and encourage all visitors to the Mission of our sacred obligation to pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. "This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary
MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.
Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

So glad I found your mission. I woke up at 5 am and couldn’t sleep. Had been reading earlier about the Traditional Latin Mass. Apparently left browser open on The Reverent Catholic Mass website - opened map and there you were. I live in Buda, not too too far away. Will try to come out for Mass soon! I’m very drawn to converting to Catholicism and never been to Mass - raised Baptist (baptized). Have no idea why I’m “scared”, haha. I watch Mass on YouTube (Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA) so am very familiar with the Marians. I know God is reaching out to me! 😊❤️🙏. Thanks for all you do!~ Martha
Dear Jesus, I pray for your Bride, the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church. I pray for her special sons, the successors to Your first Apostles, that they may serve Her courageously as true Shepherds of the flock. ~ E. *****
Many of us experience today a “desert” of loneliness and barrenness in our lives. How can St. John the Baptist’s life help us when we are “in the desert”?
