At 7pm this Friday, August 8th, Patagonia (Honolulu) will be hosting HBL for a movie night with 7 short films about bikes! From community bike caravans to the journey of an olympic cyclist, these films will make you laugh, cry, and love your bike even more. These are new films from what was shown previously during bike month. Thanks to Ulupono Initiative support, this event is free for HBL Members and $10 for general admission. The Honolulu Century Ride is coming up on Sunday, September 28th. Not ready to ride a full century? No problem! The ride is set up with Aid Stations at the 25, 50, 75, and 100 mile turnaround points. Plus, with the full closure of the Kaiwi Coast route on Kalanianaʻole Highway, this year’s 25 mile course to Sandy's is going to be more epic than ever. The Aloha Fun Ride has 5 and 8 mile options, too! This family- and beginner-friendly ride through Diamond Head and Kāhala includes Aid Station and mechanical support, HPD course presence, and all the fun of the Ride Aloha Festival.
Volunteer at the Ride Aloha Festival!
HBL needs your help on the Honolulu Century Ride (HCR), our biggest volunteer event of the year! Sign up for a shift at Packet Pickup (Friday 9/26 - Saturday 9/27) or pitch in on Event Day (Sunday 9/28) to help make this HCR a success! Volunteers receive food and a free HBL Volunteer shirt. Some Sunday shifts are even rider-friendly. Medical Support volunteers are especially needed!

Tell Honolulu City Council to Support Biki Investment
On Wednesday, August 6th, the Honolulu City Council will consider Resolution 25-221 which would transfer $1M of funds from the Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency to the Department of Transportation Services to expand Biki options for transit commuters. Provide Feedback to HDOT’s Plan to Reduce Emissions
HDOT has released a draft of their Energy Security & Waste Reduction Plan (ESWRP) and has extended the public comment period to August 31st. This document is the state’s roadmap for compliance w/the historic Navahine climate settlement and will guide transportation policy for years to come. Bike registration is required in Hawai‘i for all bicycles with tandem wheels 20” in diameter and greater (one-time fee of $15 for standard bicycles; $30 for low-speed electric bikes). Dick Evans Memorial Road Race is On!
"The pinnacle of the Hawaii bike racing season, the Dick Evans Memorial Road Race follows a route similar to the original Around Oahu Race. Its distance, 112 miles, is the basis for the Iron Man distance Triathlon. This race is held annual in memorial to Hawaii cycling great Dick Evans. Registration is open now until Aug. 22nd"
