NEWS: Charles County Economic Development is excited to share…..Q&A: Kelly Robertson-Slagle, Director of Development, Charles County by Richard R. BurgessSenior Editor | Posted on June 5, 2024, | SEAPOWER MAGAZINE

How will the Navy’s planned investment at Indian Head affect Charles County’s economy?

ROBERTSON-SLAGLE: First and foremost, there will be new business opportunities for our existing county businesses. By that, I mean the Navy’s $1.1 billion investment will be spread across 500 infrastructure projects over the next 10 years. This investment will open up opportunities for our local businesses to potentially bid on these projects. Having that type of investment here in Charles County will be extremely impactful. Read more here: https://seapowermagazine.org/qa-kelly-robertson-slagle-director-of-development-charles-county-maryland/

Aerospace Workforce: At Maryland Aerospace Day in February, one discussion point was workforce development for the aerospace industry in Maryland.  Industry representatives shared that they have positions that are hard to fill and would like to engage with Maryland Colleges and Universities to determine the best path to solve that problem with graduates from Maryland. To prepare us for future discussions between industry in the state and higher education, we've developed a survey, the full link is at the bottom of this email. Hoping for many responses! Thanks in advance for your input. Aerospace Occupation Survey - Formstack
