   ROARING FORK CONSERVANCY
Snowpack & River Report

March Snowpack Reports are supported
by CCY Architects

Summary:

Snowpack in the Roaring Fork Watershed is 112% of normal. Stream flows and snow water equivalent at all SNOTEL sites within the watershed are similar to what we saw last week.  The sunshine, mild temperatures, birds chirping and blooming crocuses have undoubtedly let us know spring has arrived. Temperatures are forecast to be in the mid-60F’s this weekend and many may start working in their yards and planning their summer gardens. Recall that the American West is in the midst of a 20+ year drought and that there are many low-water requiring plants from which to choose. For those heading into the backcountry, be advised the avalanche season is not over. Make conservative decisions about where to ski and check out the most up to date information from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center at https://www.avalanche.state.co.us/
