The Atlanta Press Club Announces 2025-2026 Board Chairperson and Treasurer
The Atlanta Press Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Jordan as Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Eric Ludgood as Treasurer for the 2025-2026 term.

As the Atlanta Press Club’s chairperson, it is my honor to help lead an institution that tirelessly serves Atlanta’s community of journalists who have long served not only local but international audiences. It is my goal to support and strengthen our organization’s efforts toward strengthening Atlanta’s broad and diverse community of reporters and storytellers, ensuring that journalists feel welcome, connected and appreciated in this pivotal time for our profession.”

Jordan is senior editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Black culture brand, UATL. A longtime Atlanta-based culture journalist, his work has been featured in a variety of publications ranging from hyperlocal to international, including The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Bon Appetit, The Guardian, National Geographic, Southern Living, Eater and Thrillist, where he served as Atlanta's founding editor in 2008 and as bureau chief for more than a decade. Jordan is also a weekly contributor at Atlanta NPR affiliate WABE, and has led editorial and content teams at Cumulus Media, Resy, Hypepotamus and Atlanta radio station V-103. He is a cofounder of community journalism nonprofit Canopy Atlanta, a longstanding member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and winner of the James Beard Foundation’s 2024 Jonathan Gold Local Voice Award, for which he was a finalist in 2023. Born in Nashville, raised in Huntsville, Alabama, and an Atlanta resident since 1995, Jordan attended Morehouse College and lives today in East Point with his wife, journalist/author Jacinta Howard, their daughter Sienna and their dog Turbo.
Ludgood is a current content creation executive and the former head of Newsy. Before that, he spent 13 years at CNN International in various leadership roles, including vice president for editorial. He played a pivotal role in several major stories during his time there, including the election of Nelson Mandela, the events of Sept. 11, the war in Afghanistan and the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004. He also directed content development and production for more than 60 hours of news programming each week at WAGA-TV, the FOX-owned and operated channel in Atlanta. Ludgood was executive producer of the investigative team whose reporting has garnered numerous awards, including a Peabody, for its examination of law enforcement use of field drug tests.
