Leadership Southern Maryland (LSM) Application Deadline Draws Near for the Emerging Leaders (LEAP) Class of 2024. The Emerging Leaders Program (LEAP) is a six-month program that facilitates and refines individual leadership understanding and abilities of early- and mid-career professionals who live or work in Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties. LEAP provides a series of six, monthly “experiences” from January through June, in which participants refine their leadership skills via structured course curriculum focused on self-discovery, teamwork, and networking. In addition to developing leadership and teamwork skills, LEAP provides an environment for participants to grow as they build their own diverse network of colleagues. - The F-14 Tomcat cockpit Flight Simulator Program has a new Train-the-Trainer program for volunteers to join the Simulator Team. The Operators earn an operational certification for the WWII P-51 Mustang aircraft and the multifunction F/A-18 Hornet aircraft in order to teach museum customers how to fly an airplane. Our first Train-The-Trainer class consists of 4 high school students Alex Brown, Alec Denney, Aarav Sharma, and Rishi Sheth, are currently about halfway through the curriculum. Students will graduate as Trainer Instructors.
