Greetings from the Eden Prairie Community Foundation!
Minnesota Summer is in full swing as we burst like a heat wave into July! Splashing water, dripping popsicles, and fireworks are the sounds of Summer. Though we hear of a few other things going on this Summer. There are quite a few opportunities going on at the Foundation that you will not want to miss, starting with our July NonProfit Lunch & Learn!
On Wednesday, July 15th, we invite any nonprofit staff or leaders to come hear from our guest experts, Jody Carey (Jody Carey Marketing + EPLN) and Abby Robida (Reach for Resources). This quarter’s practical workshop is designed to help nonprofits maximize their Email Marketing efforts. Guests will learn the fundamentals of building and managing an email list, creating engaging content, using MailChimp effectively, and integrating email with your social media strategy. Whether you are brand new to email marketing, or a seasoned veteran, every attendee is sure to walk away with valuable knowledge and connections.
Come enjoy a free lunch and learn a thing or two about how you can improve your nonprofit! This event is completely free and designed to be a service to nonprofits in Eden Prairie. We encourage you to take advantage of this connecting event! There is no limit on how many from one organization can attend, we would love to see you there!
This month we have the honor of highlighting Brighter Days Family Grief Center. Founded and run by Carolyn Kinzel, Brighter Days is a Eden Prairie based nonprofit that serves our community and the entire state. Brighter Days has walked alongside tens of thousands of children, teens, young adults, and adults since their beginning a decade ago in 2016.
Their mission is: “To provide a private and compassionate space for individuals of all ages who are
anticipating or enduring the death of a family member; to offer no cost professional services and programming; to instill hope by providing connection to others through peer-based events and activities; to educate society and promote a culture of empathy and understanding for grieving individuals.”
Built on the values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Confidentiality, they offer free services for grieving children, adults and families. Some of the programs they offer include grief & trauma counseling, logistical support (financial/legal concerns), support groups and workshops, bereavement camps & retreats, anticipatory support for caregivers, return to work/school support, and much more.
With so many services offered, you can imagine how many individuals and families are served every year. With this being said, Brighter Days is always in search of passionate volunteers that want to help make the world a brighter place. To learn more about Brighter Days and how you can better support them, visit their website brighterdaysgriefcenter.org.

By increasing access to these opportunities, we're helping young people build confidence, develop healthy habits, and experience the benefits of being active and engaged in our community. Learn more and apply on our website.
