A Note from the Executive Director

We’re a month into 2023 and I don’t know about you, but I find myself both hopeful and disoriented. Coming back from winter break has been the jankiest, messiest, slushiest return to “real life” ever. The kind where I proclaim that we’re allowed to blow off liturgical deadlines and enjoy our Christmas tree’s twinkly lights every morning until Groundhog Day. The kind where nothing runs smoothly, though everything works eventually. It isn’t that this year is “already messed up,” because I don’t think time works that way. It’s more like– oh, let’s call it a soft open. A trial run. The improvisational beginnings of whatever might sprout in a month or two, coming out of rest and self-kindness and giving ourselves and each other a little extra grace for a minute. Hell, that last part might even catch on as a regular thing.

As I improvise my way back toward something like focus and forward motion, I’m grateful that a few events this Spring are already planned, a little momentum to carry us along until the ice melts. In this newsletter you’ll see reminders of our spring guests on the Conversations series, as well as continuing Sunday night yoga. (Watch this space– some one-shot Spring events are also in the works.) And as always, we’re working to support local diocesan groups in forming, growing, and gathering– if you’re interested in helping to build a group in your area, reach out to our Community Liaison, Jay Lacy! She’s jay@thepartnerspath.com .

It's not too late to register for our February meeting of Conversations on the Partner's Path

2/6, 7:00PM CT

Conversations on the Partner's Path with Susan Waits

Susan is a Wayfinder Coach through Dr. Martha Beck; an ERYT Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance; and an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist through Himalayan Institute. She was on the team of professionals who developed curriculum for, and subsequently led, a pilot retreat for The Partner’s Path in the spring of 2021. At that retreat, Susan led a very well received session titled, “Is Your Soul Being Cared For?” One of the major takeaways from the entire weekend was the boundaries mantra she introduced – “Do no harm, take no shit.” Join us for this hour with Susan as she brings material from that session and also sheds some light on what a Life Coach is.
