Infopalooza Event Shares Resources and Fun with the Community
Sunshine Place recently hosted its second annual Infopalooza event, showcasing community resources from a variety of organizations and offering food and entertainment to attendees. Over 600 community members came to learn about resources related to food, housing, transportation, education, clothing, emergency services, and so much more! Attendees also enjoyed free food, a bounce house, DJ music, face painting, a free farmer's market, supply giveaways, and a raffle.
We are so grateful to all the resource organizations who came to share about their work, and for all the volunteers and donors who made this event a huge success. Check out the great gallery of event photos by clicking HERE.

Stuff the Bus Fundraiser Continues with Summer Kids Challenge
Our annual Stuff the Bus program is seeking the community's help to provide a record-breaking 1,800 kids with backpacks and school supplies this year. As part of the program's fundraising efforts, we are once again encouraging kids to get involved through our Summer Kids Challenge.
The challenge is for kids 17 and under who want to help raise funds for Stuff the Bus in a way they choose. This could be a lemonade stand, car wash, bake sale, or collecting donations from family and friends. To enter, submit a photo of the activity or stop by to have your photo taken at Sunshine Place when donations are dropped off.
Each child who participates in the Summer Kids Challenge will receive a token good for a free scoop of Culver’s frozen custard and will also be entered into a drawing to receive a backpack with fun items and frozen custard for a year from Culver's! The deadline to submit your photo to be entered in the grand prize drawing is Thursday, August 15. Click HERE for more details.
The Summer Kids Challenge is part of this year's overall $20,000 fundraising goal to support the Stuff the Bus program. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated so far, but we still need help to make sure that every child has the necessities they need to start the school year off right.
Every donation makes a difference! Donate online today using the button below. Or to donate via check, mail to Sunshine Place, P.O. Box 307, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 or drop off between 9am and 3pm Mon.-Fri. Checks should note “Stuff the Bus” in the memo line.
The impact of Sunshine Place programs is only possible through the kindness of community members who provide support through volunteer time and donations. Below are just a few recent highlights of this generosity:
Thank you to Sun Prairie Masonic Lodge #143 , in partnership with the Wisconsin Masonic Foundation, for a generous $3,000 to our Sunshine Supper program. The Lodge has been a longtime supporter of Sunshine Supper, providing their venue for the program's first year. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support!
Our Summer Lunch program has had incredible support from recent sponsors and volunteers. Special thanks to Harvest in the Gardens, WPPI Energy, Chick-fil-A East Madison, Express Employment Professionals, QBE Insurance, Forever Home Real Estate, The Philis, and Colonial Club. Thank you for helping us get free lunches to kids in our community this summer!
Thank you to the recent groups that provided volunteers and food at our Monday night Sunshine Supper. Each group helped served our community over 400 meals! Sponsors groups included Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, Sun Prairie Islamic Group, City of Sun Prairie employees, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.
