Give with Confidence!

Broadcasters Foundation of America is proud to share that we once again received a Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator! This September, Charity Navigator released a new rating methodology that modifies how they score nonprofit financial health, accountability, transparency, and equity. These changes were designed to provide a more accurate and comprehensive representation of an organization's impactful work. We completed our review with due diligence and are happy to report that we not only maintain our four stars, their highest rating, but received a 99% overall rating.

Additionally, we received a 2023 Gold Transparency Seal from Candid/GuideStar, a premier destination for nonprofits and nonprofit research. The Gold Seal, level 3 of 4, acknowledges our efforts to provide clear, accurate, and accessible information to our donors, program recipients, and community members.

But we’re not done yet. In the future, we will be implementing strategies to expand our equity practices, policies, and procedures. We are also researching ways to better demonstrate our impact across the broadcasting community. The BFOA is your foundation, and we want to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our radio and television colleagues in the most effective and sustainable way possible.

This could not be accomplished without your continued support. Please help us spread the mission of the BFOA. Our goal is to reach every broadcaster in need. If you know a broadcaster in need of financial assistance following an illness, accident, or natural disaster, please send them to www.broadcastersfoundation.org

Congratulations to our Vice Chairman and Treasurer, Leo MacCourtney, as he receives the 2023 IRTS Founder's Award tonight. IRTS President/CEO Joyce Tudryn explains, “Mentorship has always been the centerpiece of the IRTS educational programs and diversity initiatives. We proudly honor extraordinary leaders, who inspire us to make a difference through mentoring. May their examples set some models in motion, and serve as a call for action to all.”
