Hello Natalie!
School is back in session and the building is simply bustling! It is never a dull day at OCWH.
We have so many wonderful things to share this particular month, so do read on. (We put one of the largest bits of news at the top. We hope it excites you as much as it does for us!)
Outreach Center of West Houston has launched Building for the Future, a capital campaign to improve our building! We are already over half funded!
Stay tuned for a devoted email that will delve deeper into this exciting topic.
*Want to help us get to our $400,000 goal, or have input on possible building improvements? Email info@oc-wh.org with the subject "Building for the Future".
August Highlights:
Through an initiation with FamilyPoint Resources, our building welcomed the proud parents and students of Spring Forest Middle School for their back-to-school, meet-the-teachers event. The spirit was electric, and the turnout amazing!
The details for the 19th Annual "We're Here for You" Golf Tournament are continuting to fall into place. This includes an ever-increasing sponsor base to help support the event and ultimately the operations of our center. Thank you Stellar Opportunity Fund L.P., Stellar Bank, Chapel Vista Land Services LLC, Matt & Susie Galosi, Associated Insurance Managers, The Atnipp Family, The Quiñones Family, Doyen Sebesta & Polema LLLP, and Thomas Novosad & Assocaites, - Ameriprise Financial.
We had a great turnout to our August 16th blood drive and wanted to thank everyone who attended. It is an honor for OCWH to be the connection point for these sorts of donations. Your blood donation is someone's ticket to life, so thanks for paying it forward!
Ady Salcido with Quasar Realty Group, Dan Monson with Sente Mortgage, and Cherie Wagner with New York Life Insurance hosted a free event called "Navigating Home Buying and Retirement Planning" at the center on August 24th. To anyone who missed that, but would have liked to gather the info. that was provided, please reach out and we can connect you.
Our neighbors at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church hosted a Rally Day. Many local nonprofits gathered to educate congregants about their mission and how to get involved. We were honored to be among those presenting.
Among the many community groups we have gotten to host over the years, the First Junior Women's Club held their meeting here this month.
You are invited to join us for the 19th annual "We're Here for You" Golf Tournament at Riverbend Country Club. We are looking for this year's big title sponsor, as well as other event and auction item sponsors. Reach out to us if you are interested at info@oc-wh.org.
We are making plans to bring back a bigger and better community ArtReach Market that will not only have local art, artisan goods, and music, but also highlight all of the amazing work being done by area nonprofits. Save the date for some early holiday shopping!
