Thank you for a great year!
With your help, we created events, provided internships, and celebrated journalists at our annual Awards of Excellence and Hall of Fame.
We look forward to continuing our mission to serve the evolving professional, educational and social needs of our media community, foster journalistic excellence and advance the public's understanding of a free press and its vital role in democracy. See you next year!

The Atlanta Press Club's 2025 event programming featured leaders in business, politics, nonprofits and cultural institutions in conversation with top Georgia journalists. We also enjoyed trainings, author talks & member mixers!
We were pleased to welcome another class of young journalists to the APC Summer Journalism Internship Program in 2025. Thanks to generous support from Georgia Power, Acuity Brands, and Norfolk Southern we were able to provide nine students with valuable work experience at eight of Atlanta's top media outlets. 2026 summer intern applications will open in January!
The Atlanta Press Club honored Georgia-based or affiliated journalists for outstanding work in journalism at the Awards of Excellence this April. This year, we celebrated over 190 submissions across 16 categories, with a special cash prize supported by the A-Mark Foundation for Investigative Journalism. The 2025 Awards of Excellence Ceremony was sponsored by Acuity Brands and Norfolk Southern and was hosted by Mike Jordan at the Gathering Spot.
This year the Atlanta Press Club hosted general election debates for the 2025 election cycle and received a transformative $265,000 grant from The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation to support the 2025-2026 debates!

2025 Hall of Fame
Journalists Bill Nigut, Ernie Johnson, Jr., Jon Shirek (posthumous), J. Lowell Ware (posthumous) and Janis Ware were inducted into the Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame on November 3 in a ceremony hosted by Karyn Greer at the InterContinental Buckhead. The Hall of Fame is an annual fundraising event that recognizes journalists for their lifetime achievements. Our honorees' careers represent the highest standards of journalistic integrity and ethics.
The Atlanta Press Club will have a busy year in 2026, beginning with our popular Gold Dome Georgia Legislature Kick-Off partnership event with the Georgia First Amendment Foundation in January. Stay tuned for additional details! Also, be on the look out for Internship application and Awards of Excellence submission dates in early January!
