This Sunday's Mass will be celebrated in Spanish, due to the women's Encounter With Jesus. Please keep the women in your prayers.
When the Storm Hides the Sunrise
Looking like an Impressionist painting, this is a photo that Dave Sommers took of the sunrise last weekend outside of St. Joseph Chapel.
Before the sunrise arrives, the darkest part of the night must be passed. And if there is a storm, this darkness lingers into the dawning of the day.
But above the tempest is the living blue of Heaven, the full and brilliant Light of the Eternal Sun, Whom nothing can obscure nor diminish.
The Sunrise is here, dear friends, but the storm looms over the world and you can only see the darkness, and experience the thunder and lightening, and the devastating wind of lies.
Recollect yourselves interiorly and repeat the Name of Jesus. His name is the antidote and anchor that you need so as not to be lost in the chaos of the storm that batters our world and our Church.
Jesus blesses His faithful children, scattered throughout the world as leaven and light. He blesses all those who carry His Name in their hearts. He is The Light to distinguish the Safe Harbor from the treacherous shoals. The storm will end and the Eternal Sun will dispel the darkness.
Today is the 106th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, when the Sun appeared to dance and pulse in the sky and instantly dried the soaked crowd and soggy ground.

A SATURDAY MORNING REFLECTION BY BR.MIKAEL
Oct. 28 - 9:20 AM
OBEDIENCE ?
In these confusing times, how are we to understand the virtue of obedience? In this talk we will reflect on examples from Scripture, the Catechism, Aquinas and others in an effort to understand the Mystery of the Church, and how we are called to live obedience.
(This is a repeat of the talk that was given on Sept. 23.)
This Past Week at the Mission
Last Saturday Br. Mikael led a morning retreat for a men's ACTS team from Sts. Peter and Paul.
Work on the Sisters' Residence is moving along. Thanks be to God!
Becky and Rita were in the kitchen early Thursday morning preparing for the Encounter With Jesus retreat that began Thursday evening. Our volunteers are invaluable!
Our entrance gate and fence are getting a facelift, due to the meticulous labor of Raul who has sanded and repainted every railing. It is a huge job, and Raul is a perfectionist.
"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary
MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.
Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:
Dear Lord, we ask You, Who always hears us, for Bryan Guerrero's health. He is very young and suffers from cancer. May Your will be done.~Teresa

I am trying very hard to be a better Christian but seem to be slipping in the last month and losing hope. I feel comfort since finding and doing The Divine Chaplet the last several months but have gotten out of the habit this last few weeks so getting back to it. ~ Anonymous
