โ๏ธ The True Cost of Care |
A Kansas Department of Health and Environment study on the cost of dispensing just confirmed what pharmacists have been saying all along - the cost to dispense has risen rapidly while our reimbursements continue to decline.
๐งพ KDHE hired Myers and Stauffer, an independent third party, to analyze the cost of dispensing prescriptions in Kansas pharmacies.
๐งฎ They measured a cost to dispense of $11.38/rx for chain and $15.85/rx for non-chain pharmacies, well above the current Medicaid rate of $10.50.
๐ฒ In order to continue to serve Kansans safely, the Medicaid dispensing cost must now be updated through the legislative process.
