Let There Be Light!

Tepeyac Cross Is Illuminated

"I am the Light of the world;
he who follows Me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life."
(John 8:12)

T'was the Thursday before Christmas
And the Mission was still,
Except for Tyler in the darkness,
Up on Tepeyac Hill.

Mother and friends observed from their bench,
Giving directions by cell phone:"A little to the right!"
Tyler made final adjustments at the foot of the cross
Until he heard the command, "Let there be light."

Then the Tepeyac Cross
became our new Christmas Star.
What once languished in darkness
Could now be seen from afar.

High-fives all around,
We were thrilled with the sight.
Our Cross on the hill
Now shines bright in the night.*

When God Is Silent

Many of you ask whether there are any new Messages. And we have to respond that there has been no Message since September. The Messages depend on the Lord, not on us, and we, too, are eager to hear from Him. We encourage you to do what we are doing -- and that is rereading the previously published Messages, so full of Love, Faith and insight, and which reveal new depths with each review.

But during this quiet period, it seemed providential to come upon Bishop's Strickland's post of January 2, 2026 titled "When God Is Silent." We share it below.

...Many faithful souls are unsettled. They sense disorder, confusion, and strain – in the world, in the Church, even in their own families. And again and again I hear the same question, spoken quietly and sometimes with fear: “Why does God seem silent?”

That question matters. But the answer matters more.

God is not silent because He has abandoned His people. God is not silent because truth has failed. God is not silent because evil has prevailed.

God is silent because He has already spoken, and what He has spoken now demands obedience, not commentary.

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a comment or testimony. We ask that prayer intentions be placed at Prayer Request on our website.

A long time ago I had an internal vision, the Virgin of Guadalupe was at my side!! And she took me by the hand, but I saw myself as a little girl of 3 or 4 years old, that vision always accompanies me - and when I am afraid or hopeless, I go to her to move forward fulfilling the mission that was given to me!! We are from Southern California. For several years, my family and I have experienced a number of medical challenges with our ten year old daughter and with a Cancer diagnosis (me). My daughter's diagnosis severely challenged my faith in God. I reached bottom, and I was very angry. About three years ago, a YouTube video from the MDM appeared on my phone which talked about the Mission and about the messages received by Sister Amapola. Since then, I regularly listen to Father John Mary speak about the messages and to his weekly Homilies. Soon after I started listening to Father John Mary, my faith and my hunger to be closer to God and to our Blessed Mother became stronger than ever. On November 23, 2025, my family and I visited the MDM for the first time. Members of the congregation welcomed us and treated us as old friends. Sister Amapola and Father John Mary spent a very generous amount of time talking and patiently listening to us. They also prayed for our daughter and for our family. We are eternally grateful to the most loving members of the MDM, to Father John Mary, to Mother Margaret, to Sister Amapola and to the entire MDM community. We plan to return soon. Dearest MDM family, Thank you for sharing about Sr. Amapola appointment with tribunal. In St. Louis Mary has been appearing to a local farmer for 20 years in the 13th of every month at the shrine of the Miraculous Medal. We say the 20 decade rosary, litanies, chaplet and we are given that days message. I will be lifting her & your community in prayer. Also, a HUGE thank you for also sharing the past message where Mary refers to herself as Co-Redemptrix. God have mercy on our church leaders. ~Araceli
