Volunteers are such an important part of what makes the Foundation so effective in Eden Prairie.

Each month we will be highlighting some of our current volunteer opportunities. This month, we are searching for passionate Event volunteers for Prairie Wine & Brewfest on September 12th, 2026 who care about Eden Prairie and want to be a part of tangible change in our community.

Event-day volunteers help make the event welcoming, organized, and seamless by supporting set-up, check-in, guest flow, sponsor and vendor hospitality, Choice Grants voting, refreshments, product pouring, and clean-up. Volunteers may sign up for one shift or multiple shifts. Event volunteers receive free admission to the event and can enjoy the tastings before or after their shift!

If you are passionate about community impact and nonprofit collaboration, a natural relationship-builder and connector, comfortable reaching out to organizations and starting conversations, and excited about strengthening the Eden Prairie community through partnerships and shared resources, this is the role for you!

At our most recent board meeting, we had the honor of hearing from two representatives from Senior Community Services.

Established in 1950, this organization has been working for the wellbeing of older adults and caregivers for 76 years. Their mission is to empower people as they age. They complete this mission through the many programs they offer. All this is built on the values of community, inclusion, compassion, stewardship, innovation, and volunteerism.

The services offered by Senior Community Services (SCC) include technology services such as tech clinics and informational training, household & outdoor maintenance including mowing lawns, raking leaves, and shoveling snow, as well as caregiver support.

SCC has a few events coming up this month including their Reimagine Aging Conference taking place on September 17th from 9am-3pm and an upcoming technology presentation taking on the topic on “Everyday Uses of AI”. This training takes place on September 30th at 1pm.

They are always looking for volunteers. Consider donating an afternoon of your time to do some weeding, gardening, or other tasks that can be difficult for older members of our community.
