PA Litter Action Plan - Shannon Reiter, President of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful joined Governor Tom Wolf, DEP Secretary Patrick McDonnell, PennDOT Deputy Secretary Jennie Louwerse, Representative Mike Sturla, City of Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace and other  community stakeholders to announce Pennsylvania’s Litter Action Plan. The plan highlights innovative anti-littering measures and calls for action to combat Pennsylvania’s litter-problem at the local, business, legislative and public levels statewide! Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful’s comprehensive litter research, the PA Litter Research Study and The Cost of Littering and Illegal Dumping in PA, informed the development of the plan that includes both current initiatives and
recommendations to clean up the more than 500 million pieces of litter scattered throughout
the commonwealth.

Litter Hawk Youth Award Program -  We want to see and hear how kids are keeping Pennsylvania beautiful!  Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful invites Pennsylvania kids to participate in The Litter Hawk Youth Award Program! This program is designed for kids in Grades K through 6 as a way for them to share their hope, optimism and concerns about litter through art, words or video! Individual students or entire classrooms, schools and organizations can participate.  Two entries will be awarded in each grade level. First place will receive a $25 gift card. First runner-up will receive a $15 gift card. All participants will be recognized with certificates. The deadline to participate is January 31.
