Feasts of Light Break Through the Darkness

SKY2.jpg

We are approaching the time of year
when our culture focuses on darkness
--with all that it represents, all that it masks and hides.
But our Catholic Faith focuses on the Light
with two very important feasts:
the Feast of All Saints, and the Feast of all Souls.

The celebration of All His Saints,
of all those who are already in Paradise after the long battle,
and after their testimony,
is a celebration of the particular action of the Holy Spirit--
Who brings about the sanctification of souls.
It is the Feast of the Holy Spirit's action in our souls.
It is the Feast of Light, of Hope
and of the fulfillment of God's Promises to His children.

According to God's revelations to several saints and mystics,
The Feast of All Souls is a day when,

many, many, many souls are taken to Heaven,
having concluded their expiation and learning.
And by learning, we refer to the learning in the Love of God
that takes place in Purgatory:
learning how to love what they were not able to learn to love on earth.
Thus, Purgatory can be seen as a school of love.

Let these feasts Of God's Love and His action in our souls,
give hope and encouragement in our darkened times.
LIGHT always breaks through the darkness.

Mission of Divine Mercy

Susannah%20COMMITMENT.jpg

Susannah's Commitment to MDM

We are very happy to announce that Susannah has made her first Commitment as a member of the Mission of Divine Mercy.  At her request, Susannah's Commitment to MDM as a Consecrated Lay Woman,  was made at a small private ceremony in the Sisters’ Chapel.

Up until this point Susannah’s participation in the life of the Community has been as a novice. Now, as a member of MDM, she wears the sacred Emblem of the Mission on her vest, the same Emblem worn by the religious on their scapulars.
Thank you, Susannah, for all that you offer to MDM, to God, and to His people!

Blessing of the Holy Souls Memorials

Next Thursday, Nov. 2  Fr. John Mary will bless the memorials in our shrine to the Holy Souls, particularly  those memorials that have been added in the past year. The simple ceremony will take place after the 11:30 am Mass. It is a nice occasion at which to pray for all our deceased loved ones, especially on this day when so many are released into Heaven.

OBEDIENCE ?

In these confusing times, how are we to understand the virtue of obedience? In this talk we will reflect on examples from Scripture, the Catechism, Aquinas and others in an effort to understand the Mystery of the Church, and how we are called to live obedience.

(This is a repeat of the talk that was given on Sept. 23.)

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Dear Lord, we ask You, Who always hears  us, for  Bryan Guerrero's health.  He is very young and suffers from cancer. May Your will be done.~Teresa

I am trying very hard to be a better Christian but seem to be slipping in the last month and losing hope. I feel comfort since finding and doing The Divine Chaplet the last several months but have gotten out of the habit this last few weeks so getting back to it. ~ Anonymous
