Joan Morrison has been on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Valle de Oro NWR since 2017 and is currently serving as Secretary. Before retiring to New Mexico in 2016, Joan was a Professor of Biology at Trinity College in Hartford CT, where her research focused on birds, primarily raptors, living in a variety of human-dominated landscapes. Her passion these days is being an advocate for New Mexico’s public lands and wildlife habitats. Her property is planted as a native meadow with numerous pollinator plants.
