Our San Diego NeuroDance program is bringing joy, movement, and community to people living with neurological conditions, but we urgently need your support to keep these classes accessible after a major grant concludes this year. We're also proud to share the incredible work of Wehiwehi, which took place in Hawai'i last month. Wehiwehi amplifies Kānaka Maoli contemporary performing artists across dance, music, theater, and interdisciplinary practice, fostering solidarity while navigating the dynamic intersection of perpetuating culture and innovation.

San Diego NeuroDance is changing lives through the power of movement, bringing connection, strength, and joy to people living with Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, MS, stroke recovery, and other neurological conditions.
Thanks to the generous support of the Prebys Foundation, we've been able to grow this life-changing program, but that funding is coming to an end. To ensure classes continue, Malashock Dance must raise $25,000 by August.

Wehiwehi
Now in its second year, Wehiwehi has already supported 13 Kānaka Maoli contemporary performing artists working across dance, music, theater, and interdisciplinary practice. Cohort 2’s recent residency culminated in two sold-out public performances that welcomed nearly 400 audience members. The residency’s final days overlapped with a reunion of Cohort 1, deepening the pilina that lies at the heart of the program.
At a gathering at Bishop Museum, Cohort 1 Fellows presented the inaugural Haʻawina Awards, each honoring a mentor or artist who has profoundly shaped their path with a $1,000 unrestricted grant. Combined with fellowship stipends and artist fees, more than $60,000 in direct support was provided to 20 artists in June alone. Beyond these important financial investments, Wehiwehi’s greatest impact is the growing community of Native Hawaiian artists who are strengthening one another and carrying these resources, relationships, and ʻike forward into their own creative work and communities.

Infinity Dance Sports Center is located less than 5 minutes away from our previous location at Reneu. It has parking available in the front and back of the building. We recommend parking in the back near the garage doors for a shorter distance to class! Fully accessible to wheelchairs and other assistive devices.

Work Trade
As part of our scholarship program, the work-trade program at Malashock Dance offers free or discounted classes for students in exchange for assistance with administrative tasks and front desk duties during youth dance class hours. Participants in the program will also have access to mentorship, professional development, and performances. If you are passionate about dance, want to use or grow your administrative skills, and earn class credits in return, apply now. |
