Humanities@Home this Friday! May 29 at 5:00 pm on Zoom
Six months before the national Declaration of Independence, New Hampshire inked its first Constitution. Join your neighbors across the state on Zoom this Friday to watch a rebroadcast of a sold-out program we presented earlier this year, followed by a live conversation with the panelists on Zoom. The Honorable N. William Delker will lead a Q&A and conversation with Professor Lorianne Updike Schulzke and Robert F. Williams. RSVP and we'll send you the link to join!

This program is made possible by a partnership between New Hampshire Humanities, New Hampshire PBS, and the Warren B. Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership, and Public Service. |
"It's like being a part of history." - Big Watch participant
Don't miss your chance to be part of the BIG WATCH!
Communities across the Granite State are coming together to commemorate and reflect on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence through the BIG WATCH — a statewide series of screenings of Ken Burns’s The American Revolution, followed by facilitated community conversations designed to inspire thoughtful discussion and connection.
With more than 80 BIG WATCH events taking place across New Hampshire, host locations are also offering complementary programs and activities for the whole family in communities throughout the state.

NHH Executive Directors have a challenge for YOU! |
NH GIVES | June 9-10
In just under two weeks, New Hampshire Humanities will participate in NH Gives, the annual statewide celebration of giving. In just 24 hours, thousands of donors come together to support local nonprofits, raising millions of dollars that strengthen communities across the state.
Last April federal funding for the humanities was cut and overnight, Granite Staters lost opportunities to connect with ideas and their communities.
We're asking you to donate to New Hampshire Humanities during NH Gives, because your gift helps develops communities of readers, cultivates curiosity, and gathers neighbors to learn from and listen to one another.
With your help, $17,000 is within reach! Former Executive Directors Steve Taylor, Charlie Bickford, and Debbie Watrous, and current Executive Director Michael Haley Goldman have joined forces to create a special challenge to match your gifts dollar for dollar.
Please give during NH Gives and double your impact. Thank you!
Visit www.nhhumanities.org on June 9-10. |
Meet our Summer Intern, Sally Geoghegan! |
|
A NOTE FROM SALLY: I am excited to begin my Data and Fundraising Internship at New Hampshire Humanities this summer. I am a rising junior at Smith College studying English and Statistical and Data Sciences, and have lived in New Hampshire for two years. This summer, I will be focused on finding, organizing, and analyzing NHH’s available data, and considering new ways to articulate the organization’s impact. |
As a humanities student and New Hampshire resident, I am excited to contribute to an inquisitive, thoughtful community around the humanities. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply what I have learned at Smith about data visualization and data-driven storytelling to real-world information, and to learn more about the behind-the-scenes work that makes NHH’s programs possible. Most of all, I look forward to connecting with the community that NHH and the participants in its programs have contributed to building around sharing and considering new ideas. ~ Sally |
