We are beyond grateful for the rich conversations we got to share with so many of you last month in Baltimore! It is amazing to hear about the climate justice work you're all doing in your congregations and communities. Read our brief reflection on General Assembly here.
Alongside our partners at UUs for Social Justice (UUSJ) and the UU Service Committee (UUSC), UU Ministry for Earth facilitated justice movement chaplaincy at Capitol Hill on June 17, 2025. Our group of UUs spoke with dozens of legislators and shared packets of information about UU values and what our faith asks us to advocate for. Read more about Hill Day here.
Donate Your Voice for the Future of UUMFE! Give Feedback on Our New Programming Prototype, EarthChurch
We’re dreaming big, and we need your input to ensure UUMFE’s future programming aligns with the needs and interests of our community. If you spoke with us at GA in person, you may have heard us talking about it! The UU Ministry for Earth is conceptualizing an EarthChurch—an innovative new space for the UU community. EarthChurch is envisioned as a space for all to come together for offerings such as monthly online earth-centered worship and similar events, meditations, skill-shares, workshops, professional training, retreats, and small group ministries. Together, we can create a committed community that is strengthened by our faith and love for the Earth.
We’re incredibly grateful to you for setting aside the time to help guide the future of UUMFE! The Google Form (linked here) should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete.
UUMFE Seeks New Board MembersUU Ministry For Earth has OPEN POSITIONS on our Board of Directors! These are individuals who help steer the organization forward and ensure the strategic outlook is sound. We need all sorts of expertise, such as general non-profit or business management, climate justice experience and know-how, HR experience, finance or bookkeeping backgrounds! Here is a link to learn more, and feel free to reach out to Board Chair Rev. Lauren Levwood even if you are unsure.
Serving on a Board is a great way to incorporate UU values into your life, including meeting UUs from across the country. Plus, it always feels good to learn new skills that you can use to contribute to your community!
This section includes events hosted or co-hosted by UUMFE.
We are considering using a platform to chat, such as Discord, so people do not have to wait until our meetings to connect with each other. If we decide to launch that, the email group will receive an invitation to join.
We can’t wait to look toward an imaginative future for climate justice with you!
UUMFE Signed Joint Statement by DRUUMM, BLUU in Response to the U.S. Bombing of Iran
I am gratified that UUMFE (Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth) has chosen to endorse the following statement by DRUMM (Diverse & Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries) and BLUU (Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism):
Thank you to DRUUM and BLUU for their joint effort to affirm life and speak truth to power. In their words, "Even in sorrow, we are not powerless. We are called to act—with courage, compassion, and collective care... Let us keep choosing life, dignity, and peace—even in the hardest moments."

How One UUMFE Member is Utilizing our Climate Justice Resources
"When our minister asked the Earth Care Team to co-lead this year's earth-month service, we were pleased to say 'yes.' But where to start finding prayers, songs, and other sources of inspiration? Fortunately, I am active with UUMFE so knew I could start by reviewing its offerings on the website. One of the several services they support is Earth Care, so it took only a few clicks to find exactly the readings and music that would fit this occasion. This allowed me to spend more time fashioning a sermon that complemented the readings than might have been the case otherwise. Although the resources are available to all, a modest donation is requested, which we were glad to do. Thanks to the UUMFE for helping make the service so meaningful."
—Anne-Marie McCartan, UUMFE supporter and newly installed Board Member At-Large

UUJEC's Annual Meeting
July 26, 2025 2pm ET • 1pm CT • 12pm MT • 11am PT
Our Annual Meeting speaker will be Fran Quigley, a law professor at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Health and Human Rights Clinic director, and author of the book Lessons from Eviction Court: How we can end our housing crisis. We look forward to having you join us that day and talking about next steps for Meeting the Moment, supporting the affirmed Actions of Immediate Witness, and looking at the intersection of Housing and Abolition as we move together through another summer of heat, hurricanes, and wildfires.
"I give thanks for the work of the ancestors and the elders and yelders and youth whose efforts made the existence of the College possible and I give thanks for every beloved alive and bringing your lessons learned and unlearned to showing up faithfully in the world in this moment, and the next one, and the next one. Solidarity is essential. We must love each other well across time and place and space. While the structures may change, the call for spiritually grounded, justice-centered skillful activism is louder than ever."
Climate Resilience through Disaster Response and Community Care
How can we center the inherent worth and dignity of every person in climate disasters?
Every community is different, and climate impacts will vary at the hyper-local level. Some neighborhoods may be devastated by a hurricane while others experience only minor impacts. Adequate preparation and response for climate disasters must center the lived experiences and impacts of climate disasters on those most at risk. Learn more, download our toolkit, and take action.
