Calling all Middle and High school STEM teachers! Learn how to teach epidemiology and public health concepts, collaborate with CDC scientists and other educators, create ready to use resources for your classroom and so much more. Attend CDC's 5-day Summer Course, July 14–18, 2025 at CDC Headquarters, Atlanta, GA. Attendance at the Summer Course is free. Travel is paid for and arranged by CDC.

Thinking Thursday: Anatomy & Physiology Tips You Can Use

Thursday, January 16th, 5-6 PM Central 

🧠 In this Thinking Thursday Webinar, Sarah Hoagland a Science Olympiad Alum and current Event Supervisor from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will share with you some tips and ideas to help you better prepare for your upcoming tournaments. She will also answer questions you may have on Anatomy & Physiology. 

Teaching Tuesday: Glaciers & Climate - Webinar for Dynamic Planet, Fossils, and Meteorology Students

Tuesday, January 21st, 5-6 PM Central 

🌨 Join Dr. Christine Bassett from NOAA for a special Thinking Thursday Webinar on Tuesday! Students interested in Dynamic Planet and Meteorology will hear about Dr. Bassett's research on paleoclimates along North America's northwest coast, focusing on climate, glaciers, and their connections. This session is a great opportunity to learn new content and ask questions, especially for those competing in Dynamic Planet, Fossils, and Meteorology.

Workshop Wednesday: Climate and Global grasslands: Past and Future Change

Wednesday, January 22nd, 5-6 PM 

🌿 Join Dr. David Wedin, a faculty member at the University of Nebraska, for a Workshop Wednesday Webinar on grassland ecology and conservation. Dr. Wedin's PhD research focused on how grasses interact with soil carbon and nitrogen cycling, particularly the impact of nitrogen pollution on diverse prairies. He also oversees research and management at Nine-Mile and Dalbey Prairie. Ecology students can deepen their knowledge and ask questions during this session.

Thinking Thursday: Climate 101: The Science and its Implications for Meteorology

Thursday, January 30th, 5-6 PM

🌎 Join Amber Liggett, MSEM, a communications specialist at NOAA's Climate Program Office, for a Thinking Thursday Webinar on climate and weather. As a science writer and public speaker with expertise in weather, climate, and emergency management, Amber will help Meteorology students understand the intersection of climate and weather, and their impact on our lives. She holds a B.S. in Meteorology and an M.S. in Emergency Management from Millersville University.
