IT'S DEMOCRACY AUTUMN
AT BOSTON UJIMA PROJECT

We hope you have been finding peace, love, rest, and solace throughout the summer months. Welcome back to a new world... as we understand it! At Ujima it's Democracy Autumn.

In Boston, it is a fertile time for political change as we approach the historic mayoral and other municipal elections. We, along with other communities, navigate a new phase of the pandemic, climate change, and attempt to shape a new normal.

At Ujima, we continue to embody the necessary systems change we all dream about: an economic, cultural, social, and physical shift in the way we live. We've organized an exciting array of virtual programming for the last quarter of the year.

September is Public Banking Month. On Sept 8, 15, and 22 at our #UjimaWednesdays Political and Financial Education workshops, we'll hear from advocates, legislators, academics, and bankers, on the vibrant movement to create a public bank in Massachusetts.

October is Artist Political Power Month. On Oct 6, we'll be learning from Dzidzor's Creativity Demonstrates Infinity Arts & Cultural Organizing micro-learning pod workshop.

The Future is Present's Vocal Assembly will gather members of the MIT and Ujima communities, inviting us to read and interrogate texts central to Ujima as material for discourse and artistic experimentation, leading up to a 12-hour performance artwork.

November is Land and Real Estate MonthOur very own assemblies, Ujima Ashe Ashe 2021 Cultural Assembly and A Loving Embrace 2021 Real Estate Assembly will each offer the opportunity to learn and build new plans for our next investment plans focusing on artists and land.

And more!

View our full calendar of events below, mark the dates of the events that excite you, then visit our Democracy Autumn landing page to find links to RSVP. We can't wait to see you, again.

cheers,

Boston Ujima Project
