Mākaha Time Trial

Don't miss out! The Mākaha Time Trial is happening this Sunday (2/1). This is a great entry-level race, perfect for first-time racers and anyone curious about trying a time trial in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Online registration closes Friday at noon, and volunteer opportunities are also available if you’d rather help make the event happen. Whether you’re racing or volunteering, you’re supporting a community-powered cycling event.

Join us on Friday, March 6th for the Pedal Pāʻina, Hawai‘i Bicycling League’s Annual Benefit Dinner, and help power our work through a night of good food, community, and celebration. Tickets are on sale now. 

We’re also seeking donations for our silent auction! If you can donate or secure an auction item for this event, please email ChrisProceeds from this evening directly support HBL's education, advocacy, and event programs. 

Hale‘iwa Metric Century

Registration is open for the 2026 Hale‘iwa Metric Century on Sunday, April 26th! Every rider who signs up directly supports Hawai‘i Bicycling League’s work in education, advocacy, and safer streets across the state. Ride the stunning North Shore, take on a meaningful challenge, and know that your registration helps fund the programs and events that keep our cycling community moving forward. Register early and ride with purpose.

Support the Pedal Pāʻina on March 6th!

On Friday, March 6th HBL is hosting its 2026 Pedal Pāʻina Benefit Dinner and we're in need of volunteer support.

If you're planning to purchase a ticket and attend the event, Helpful Guest Roles are short (1-2 hour) volunteer shifts that will help with set up and break down. If you’d like to volunteer for the full evening, the Key Volunteer Roles help with larger tasks (no ticket required). Cycling Workshops With Bike Store Support!

HBL is excited to be partnering with two local bike stores for upcoming *FREE* workshops for February! 

  • Feb. 16th (Presidents’ Day, Monday) 11am - 12:30pm Fix-a-Flat workshop @McCully Bicycle & Sporting Goods (Sign up before 2/14 & you’ll receive a gift card from McCully Bicycle at the workshop ♥️) 
  • Feb. 21st (Saturday), 10am - 12pm E-Bikes 101 workshop @Kaka‘ako Waterfront Park (On top of all attendees getting to choose from 10 different e-bikes styles to ride, Ebikes Hawaii will be offering cargo e-bike hauling demos. You don’t want to miss this one!)

There should be a thumb’s-width gap between your handlebars & brake levers when you squeeze your brake levers firmly. When released, the levers should snap back into position. If you have rim brakes, check to make sure the brake pads are not worn thinner than ⅛”.

Registration is now open for the Hawaii Cycling Club’s 20th annual Prologue Time Trial on Saturday, February 7 at 7:30am, a 10-mile road course along the Kona Coast, and the infamous Kiser Dragon Hill Climb Gran Fondo, 7:30am on Saturday March 14 at Keauhou Bay. Test yourself on the Big Island!! More information here
