There are still opportunities to sponsor a session at the conference! Session sponsorship not only provides important support for the conference, but is also an excellent way to advertise your organization. For session and other sponsorship opportunities, click HERE.
Pediatric Sessions
A whole day's worth of pediatric sessions are being offered on Tuesday 25th! These sessions are being offered in addition to our regular conference sessions and will be relevant for both caregivers and pediatric professionals. The Project GreenHeart Foundation is sponsoring FULL one day scholarships for caregivers of children and adolescents with brain injury who would like to attend. Children under the age of 18 can attend for free. Please contact Meghan Walsh-Farrell at walsh-farrell@biapa.org for scholarship info.
Email your Legislators today to support HB 1682 & SB 1094: Ensuring Access to Post-Acute NeuroRehabilitation for Pennsylvanians Experiencing Acquired Brain Injury
These bills will ensure that commercial health insurance plans provide for Post-Acute NeuroRehabilitation, including Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT) and other brain injury treatments, related to treatment for brain injuries.
NeuroRehabilitation treatment increases a survivor’s ability to live independently in the community, thereby lessening the need for more costly long-term supports and services. Key services included in this legislation, which are already included in Medicaid Waiver plans in Pennsylvania, need to be provided under commercial health benefit plans.
This legislation will increase access to evidence-based, effective, post-acute Neurorehabilitation treatments needed to help individuals with acquired brain injury increase their ability to live independently and to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
How you can help: Please contact your PA Representative and send them a message asking them to Co-sponsor HB 1682 – tell them how important this legislation is to you.
More information about these bills, including talking points is available HERE.
Also contact your PA Senator and send them a message asking them to Co-sponsor SB 1094 – this bill is similar but adds access to Cog Rehab and other NeuroRehab services via Telehealth.
