A single ticket is $150; a VIP Experience ticket is $250 and also includes early museum access with a VIP reception at 5:30 at the Major Taylor exhibit. A silent auction will also be held during the event.
FPCC has set a fundraising goal for the event of $150,000, where they hope to raise $100,000 for Pre-K Scholarships and $50,000 for their hunger relief programs. Scroll down on the Registration Site to learn more about FPCC’s history and the daily impact they make in their community.
Did you know that Fletcher Place Community Center’s roots are in the United Methodist Church? In 1872, FPCC began within the Fletcher Place Methodist Episcopal Church as a small outreach to serve poor German, Italian and Irish immigrants who had relocated to the south side of Indianapolis. In 1961, FPCC incorporated and established as a “neighborhood house” in order to carry on its mission of easing the suffering of those struggling with life’s basic needs. This continues to be their mission today.
FPCC’s incorporation was sponsored by the Methodist Church City Council and Church Extension Society of Indianapolis. This organization, whose name was entirely too long, was eventually renamed - you guessed it - Metro Ministries Inc.!
Metro Ministries continues to walk alongside FPCC. We are proud to join them as they CELEBRATE 150 years of serving their neighbors. Well done, Fletcher Place Community Center!
Prairie Prayer Walk
at Union Chapel UMC
Union Chapel UMC in Indianapolis has a beautiful space on their property that is filled with all kinds of native plants and grasses. The space was planted by Megan Sharp with STRIVE Worldwide and has just been transformed into a self-guided prayer walk. The Prairie Prayer Walk is open to the public dawn to dusk, now through September.
There are over 20 prayer prompts along the path, providing guidance to connect with God while encountering the flowers, birds and butterflies that call the prairie home. Union Chapel UMC is located at 2720 E. 86th Street, and the Prayer walk is on the southwest corner of the property. What a beautiful space to visit and be in conversation with God!
