Hello John,

Every big change starts small: a new bike lane, a trail connection, a conversation with a local official. That's the idea behind the 2027 Illinois Bike & Walk Summit theme: Step by Step, Mile by Mile.

The 2027 Illinois Bike & Walk Summit (ILBWS27) is Illinois's premier gathering for people who want to make it easier and safer to get around their communities, while biking, walking, and rolling. Advocates, planners, engineers, elected officials, and neighbors from communities of various sizes come together to learn from each other, trade ideas, and leave with practical solutions to take home to improve their communities.

Save the date:

๐Ÿ“… April 13 - 14
๐Ÿ“Bank of Springfield Center, Springfield, IL 62701

Who should be there?

  • Advocates and volunteers working to improve their community
  • Planners, engineers, and municipal staff
  • Public health and transportation professionals
  • Anyone who believes streets should work for people who walk, bike, and roll

The 2025 Summit brought nearly 250 people to Springfield, and the momentum carried into real conversations, change, and progress throughout Illinois. In April, we'll be building on that progress!

Registration and program details are coming soon. For now, add the date to your calendar so you don't miss it.

Get involved!

The Illinois Bike & Walk Summit works because of the people who show up to shape it. There are two ways you can get involved today.

Sponsor the Summit

Put your organization or business in front of the people who are building safer, more connected communities across Illinois. Sponsorship supports the event and connects your brand with advocates, planners, engineers, public health professionals, and local leaders. Learn more about sponsor tiers and benefits here.

Speak at the Summit

Have a project, a lesson learned, or a success story worth sharing? We're looking for speakers who can inspire and equip attendees with ideas they can use back home, whether you're a seasoned professional or a local champion who got something done, we'd love to give you the stage to share your story.

Got Questions or Suggestions?

We'd appreciate it if you would share this message with your personal and professional network so they can also save the date.

At this stage in the ILBWS27 planning process, you're invited to share ideas that will enhance the experience for those who attend. Please send your questions and suggestions to info@rideillinois.org.

We'll be sharing more information before long...and we hope to see you in Springfield next April!
