Welcome to our December newsletter!
As we wrap up 2025, I want to extend my sincere thanks to all the communities, climate leaders, and volunteers who have partnered with MassEnergize this year.
Your commitment—whether through outreach, learning, or helping neighbors take practical steps toward cleaner energy—shows how powerful community action can be.
Every conversation, every household upgrade, and every local initiative adds up to real climate solutions.
Your work continues to inspire us, and we’re grateful for the energy and collaboration you bring to this movement. As we head into the holiday season, I hope you find time to rest and recharge. We look forward to seeing you in 2026 with renewed momentum for another year of action, connection, and community-powered climate leadership.
We are excited to announce that 13 high schools have been selectedto participate in this year’s Youth Climate Solutions Challenge, representing more than 40 public high school students across the state.
Over the past few weeks, students and advisors joined our Information Sessions, Energy Solutions Webinars, and Community Engagement & Outreach Webinars, building the skills and knowledge they need to design impactful climate and energy projects.
With their training complete, teams are now ready to begin developing their energy-focused climate solutions, which they will plan and implement from January through April 2026. These projects will address real community needs, promote sustainable energy related practices, and inspire peers to take action.
We look forward to celebrating their achievements at our Awards Night in May 2026, where the top three projects will receive prizes in recognition of their creativity, impact, and leadership.
The challenge officially begins on January 5, and we can’t wait to see the innovative solutions our future climate leaders bring forward!
MassEnergize is proud to announce that we were awarded a Mass Save Community Education Grant to support youth engagement in clean energy and energy efficiency as part of our Youth Climate Solutions Challenge.
This funding will support the training of high school students in energy saving measures in order to help reachcommunity members in the participating towns, including renters, low-income households, and English-isolated residents.
Guided by an Energy Efficiency Facilitator, students will be able to integrate Mass Save programs into their climate solutions projects and demonstrate their newly gained knowledge at the spring awards ceremony at Framingham State University.
This work marks an exciting step toward building youth leadership and expanding access to clean-energy solutions across Massachusetts. Stay tuned—these students are just getting started, and their impact will be powerful.
