From Iowa to Oklahoma: 

Hope Force Responds

It has been incredible to see the community in Greenfield, Iowa rallying to clean up their town!  People have come out of the woodwork to love their community well.  Hope Force has been on the ground in Iowa since Wednesday night.  Our team is now pivoting to Claremore, Oklahoma, where a powerful tornado was on the ground from east Owasso through the town of Claremore and into Pryor.

After being in Iowa for a few days, HFI staffer, Brian Wagner, returned home before the forecasted severe weather outbreak of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and up into the Ohio River Valley.  Just outside of Tulsa, OK, a powerful tornado wreaked havoc; the extent of the damage was immense, with Emergency Management's assessment of 330 families impacted in the town of Claremore alone.

Being an extremely densely populated area surrounded by forests, the debris cleanup has overwhelmed the community.  Brian Wagner has been on the ground since the morning after the tornado, assessing the damage and coordinating with organizational partners.  Oklahoma VOAD (Volunteers Active in Disaster) is fully engaged and work orders are already being processed.

Please continue to pray for the survivors of these devastating tornadoes in your prayers as they continue to dig out and grieve.  Please pray for our Hope Force teams as we serve and enter into the lives of the individuals of these incredible communities. As of today, 2024 marks the highest number of tornadoes in the U.S. during the month of May.
