Hello Natalie!
Golf, an art market, service projects, TV interviews, and more colored our October! As we step into November, we have gratitude. Whether you come here for services, or you support those services, YOU are why the Outreach Center of West Houston is still going strong. Thanks for all you do!
p.s. - Do you know a local happening our community should know about? Email natalie@oc-wh.org to see about it being included next month.

Thank you to 100 Women of Memorial! Out of the eight nonprofits submitted for this last round of their giving efforts, The Outreach Center was one of three chosen at random to present. Our Director of Communications & Events had only five minutes to encapsulate all that we do at the center. After all three presented, the 180+ members anonymously voted on where they would like to gift their funds. We were selected by the majority and later presented with $18,650 toward our mission!
Shout out to the group of volunteers that came from Truist Bank, as well as Kaelon Wilson, Ha Nguyen, and our head volunteer Cindy Howard, for the great teamwork on refreshing the paint in our hallways! The bank also donated several new trees, plus appliances to some of the gals at Two Lives Changed!
Thank you for the amazing work you all did, as well as your generosity!

Our dear friends at Fluor brought by some quite creative pumpkins to adorn these hay bales throughout the autumn season. Thanks Fluor!
Our friends at FIND were back for their ADOS (Annual Day of Service). From cleaning up weeds in the volleyball sandpit, to planting trees, to laying gravel and more, their willingness to improve the grounds for the benefit of those that use the space is always appreciated!
In preparation for our ArtReach Market, we were on Channel 39's Houston Happens segment. It was an absolute joy and honor to sit with Maggie Flecknoe, to discuss how art transcends barriers and brings people together, and to explain why that was a driving thought behind doing our market. Watch the segment here.
As soon as our golf tournament was behind us, we were full speed ahead on our November 2nd Artreach Market. We will report more on that in the November recap for our next newsletter, but for fun, here is a link to the full album on that event. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, in every way!
Stay tuned for the mural progress on the shipping container in the field by Serty31, Founder of Neograffik Creative Studio! It will be sure to be a community beauty when complete!
