Welcome to our February newsletter. As you know, January 20th brought in some major challenges to those of us working on behalf of people and the planet. Yet despite the new Administration's efforts to roll back the progress we have made in the transition to clean energy and equity, MassEnergize will persist! Read below for all the incredible things taking place locally!
As always, please reach out to let us know what else we can be doing to support you or your community on the road to a healthier planet for all!
MassEnergize is proud to collaborate for a second year with the Christa McAuliffe Center at Framingham State University on their Perspectives of Earth - Team Mentorship (PETM) program. PETM is a transformative initiative that equips high school students with valuable work experience, networking opportunities, and pathways to careers in climate-critical fields.
This partnership allows MassEnergize to engage with diverse and passionate young leaders while advancing our mission of scaling climate action at the community level.
Through this collaboration, PETM interns play a vital role in our Solar Para Todos program, creating community engagement materials in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
The partnership also supports the Energy Efficiency For All program, which educates high school students about energy efficiency measures that can benefit their families and communities, particularly in Environmental Justice neighborhoods.
Natalie Daly, our Energy Efficiency Program Assistant, continues to make a meaningful impact through their work in community outreach and education. Natalie collaborates closely with the PETM program with support from MassEnergize's Mass Save Community Education grant to engage residents and empower them with energy efficiency resources. Natalie highlights the importance of PETM in providing students with real-world connections and pathways into environmental careers: “So often, young people miss out on career advancement opportunities due to a lack of connections. PETM’s partnership with MassEnergize bridges that gap, embedding networking with notable environmental organizations into the program’s foundation.”
This collaboration exemplifies the power of partnerships in fostering education, equity, and environmental action. Together, we are not only empowering the next generation of climate leaders but also driving tangible change in our communities.
