On April 30th, Bentley University buzzed with energy as over 250 climate leaders from across Massachusetts came together for a powerful day of connection, learning, and inspiration at the 2nd annual MassEnergize Community Climate Leaders Conference.
Here’s what attendees experienced throughout the day:
Inspiring Keynotes Massachusetts Climate Chief Melissa Hoffer, Yale climate communicator Joshua Low, and Rewiring America's Jamal Lewis, delivered motivating and timely keynotes that sparked thoughtful conversations and renewed determination for bold climate action.
Action-Packed Breakouts Breakout sessions provided hands-on tools and strategies covering topics like heat pump coaching, grassroots organizing, battery storage, community solar, and engaging youth in climate leadership.
Vibrant Networking & Collaboration From early morning coffee to lunch table conversations and afternoon nonprofit fair strolls, attendees forged new partnerships and shared ideas for accelerating local climate initiatives.
Interactive Experiences The Climate Carnival games, Tree of Hope community art project, and climate-themed quilts created space for creativity, reflection, and fun—reminding us that climate action can be joyful too.
Resource Sharing & Real Solutions Communities left with practical tools, inspiring stories, and new connections to support their ongoing work—from funding strategies to decarbonization programs and outreach tips.
“I came away energized and ready to bring fresh ideas back to my town.”
“The breakout sessions gave me concrete actions I can implement right away.”

The Greater Newburyport Green Expo on May 18th brought together over 40 local organizations, nonprofits, and businesses to showcase climate solutions and sustainable living practices. Highlights included an electric vehicle showcase, a native plant pop-up sale, hands-on family activities, and a live mural painting.
Attendees also joined a guided Sustainability Tour of local climate-smart sites. Energize Newburyport, one of MassEnergize’s community partners, was a key exhibitor and co-organizer of the event. And MassEnergize-led Energy for Generations was proud to participate as a featured nonprofit supporting clean energy adoption for older adults.

Community of Practice
We were excited to welcome Steve Jaslowich from National Grid and Dan Britton from ReVision Energy for an info-packed May Community of Practice meeting!
Steve gave a practical overview of 2025 Mass Save heat pump rebates, including eligibility, partial vs. whole-home rebates, and tools like the Heating Comparison Calculator. Dan broke down what to know about residential battery storage—why it matters, what to avoid, and how to design systems that provide clean, reliable backup power.
