When  Suffering
Comes

Suffering.jpg

There are very few people who CHOOSE  to suffer.
Nevertheless, suffering comes to each of our lives.

That was part of the mission of Jesus,
to show us how to suffer.

To show us that beyond what the eyes and mind perceive,
there is an infinite mystery and power in suffering.

You may not choose to suffer,
but don't waste your suffering when it comes.

Only God knows the full mystery of suffering,
of what happens in suffering
and through suffering:
Powerful life-changing graces for you,
and for others you may never meet in this world.
All is useful when you give it to Him.

When you suffer,
keep looking at Jesus.
Look at the One Who loves you,
And gave His life for you.
He is All-Powerful.
He is The Conqueror.
He will restore His Children.
The pain will disappear.
The brokenness will be healed.
The horror of sin and its effects
will be cleansed and purified,

by His Blood and by His Offering.
AND by the blood and offering of His beloved ones
who trust in Him and offer all their suffering to Him.
Jesus, we trust in You.

Another Perspective on "Offering It Up"

"Whatever evil is endured in faith,
God transforms into a grace.

This offering up of suffering is ultimately a reminder to the demons of their defeat on the Cross."
( Msgr. Stephen Rossetti,  Exorcist Diary #241)

Jobs for July

Yes, we are sweltering in the unrelenting heat, but the jobs are still getting done.

Trees are trimmed or felled in preparation for bringing electricity to Shepherds' Hill for the Sisters' convent.

DAVE'S%20BELLS.jpg

Everyone who visits the Mission sees the results of the long hours that  Dave, Steve and Raul put in to maintain the grounds. But few realize the multitude of behind-the-scene jobs needing to be accomplished. For instance, preparing for Mass to resume in August, Dave has just finished polishing the brass of the sanctuary bells, having already polished all the candlesticks. Below,  Steve readies some wood to be painted. Their work never ends.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Attended Mass on 6/16/23 and I felt so much peace. ~Maricruz

Oh my Jesus. Trusting you has empowered me in ways I didn’t know possible. Daily I face spiritual battles that wear me out. Only by surrendering to Divine Assistance is my soul at rest. Jesus, my Jesus I trust you to order my steps in accordance with God’s amazing plan. ~Jill

If you can’t trust Jesus, who can you trust? Jesus I Trust in You, 20 times is easy now. I say it many times when I’m driving instead of saying what I used say! !~ Ronnie

"Jesus I Trust In You!" I will continue to claim God's Promise - Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 .  I believe I did the best I could as a mom. I need prayers now for me. May our Lord Jesus Christ, place in my heart, Soul and mind to just trust Him and to be able to learn to "Live and Let Live" and to "Let go and let God" handle the rest of my journey now that they are adults. Praying in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen! ~Guadalupe
