Phone a Phriend for PBM Reform!

💊 One pharmacist is an anomaly

💊 💊 Two pharmacists are a coincidence

💊 💊 💊 Three pharmacists are a trend and the issue needs to be addressed!

We need everyone to get involved and be united as we prepare to speak on PBM practices. This week, please take 60 seconds to support Kansas PBM reform by signing up to  ADOPT a Legislator and by forwarding this message on to your pharmacy coworkers and friends. Even if you are not able to host a meeting, we need pharmacists to show up and support the message.

Please take the following actions today:

Be a pharmacy Champion! Sign yourself up to ADOPT a Legislator.

👥 Recruit 3 pharmacy friends to complete the ADOPT a Legislator form by Wednesday, Oct.22!

❓ Worried about meeting with a legislator? Don’t be! Send us any questions or concerns you have and we’ll help you feel prepared.

Here's what happened last week:

  • KDHE released the report from its Kansas Medicaid Cost of Dispensing survey, conducted earlier this year by Myers and Stauffer. The results confirm what pharmacists have been saying all along - costs to dispense have risen rapidly while reimbursements continue to decline.
  • The GAC Communications Committee is working hard to develop resources and information for you and your legislator during meetings, including the KDHE study.
  • We have matched 78% of Kansas legislators with a pharmacist Champion who will host meetings with their legislators. We need pharmacists who will also show up to support. Our goal is 100% of meetings completed by Thanksgiving.
  • We met with outside organizations who provided training information for pharmacists preparing to meet with legislators.
  • First draft of PBM Reform Bill continues to be shared with key stakeholders through meetings with local lawmakers.
