May 7th, The Love of Singular Men by Victor Heringer
June 4th, Bush Runner, The Adventures of Pierre-Esprit Radisson by Mark Bourrie
Delve into the depths of intersectionality and its impact on human rights, social justice, the law, social dynamics, and everyday personal interactions with legally trained advocate, Alison Symington. By contemplating the restrictive and oppressive aspects of discriminatory policies and practices, we can identify how multiple social identities can struggle to articulate their unique position in society. Via a detailed intersectional lens, Alison elucidates which social determinants most radically influence access to essentials like education, housing, exercise, and jobs for those situated at systemically disadvantaged nexuses.
If you want to learn more about achieving solidarity, hear Alison’s message on the need for honest and clear introspection. Discover how to assess your own status within the social landscape and help work toward reducing marginalization, systemic oppression, and inequity.
This project was made possible due to the encouragement and generous support of Craig Barlow.
