TPP Program Updates:

January 31 @ 8:30 am - Presenting SOMD 2030, a workforce development initiative.  Learn about paid internships for Summer 2023, the growing Tech Jobs Rule (TJR) Apprentice program, and other ways to get engaged as we increase our STEM pipeline.  This workforce development initiative has been a priority for the Southern Maryland Navy Alliance (SMNA).  Through the efforts of the SMNA, NAWCAD is able to fund this program.   • After 44 years of service, the 1978 Dove was hauled out of the St. Mary’s River for the final time on January 17, 2023. Historic St. Mary’s City Commission is actively pursuing alternatives to make the best use of the 1978 Dove.

Patuxent River Naval Air Museum is hosting their annual STEAM Day on Saturday, March 11, 2023, 10am-3pm, for students 4th through 12th grade. There will be various professionals throughout the museum representing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math with activities for students to participate in.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society which works for a cure through research advocacy, financial support is seeking sponsorships – High School students in St Mary’s County are fundraising for this important cause. A number of students have family members or friends diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma. This is an opportunity to support a local cause and support these students in their fundraising.
