MassEnergize is thrilled to partner with the City of Melrose to expand access to clean heating and cooling solutions through Melrose's free Heat Pump Coaching service. This initiative connects residents with expert guidance, helping them confidently transition to energy-efficient heat pumps.
To maximize the program’s impact, MassEnergize designed and launched a full-scale, three-month marketing campaign, crafting a suite of outreach materials to ensure broad community engagement. From Facebook and Instagram posts to reels, branded graphics, and even yard signs, we created a cohesive campaign to build awareness and drive participation. Our team also refined messaging and branding to make the program more accessible and appealing to Melrose residents.
To measure effectiveness, we’re using Bit.ly links to track engagement across different social media platforms. This data allows us to see which channels and messages are most impactful, helping us adapt and refine the strategy in real time for maximum reach.
By combining expert coaching with a data-driven digital strategy, this collaboration is making it easier for residents to take action—reducing carbon emissions and moving the city closer to its climate goals.
Would your community benefit from a similar campaign? MassEnergize provides customized outreach strategies to help towns and cities accelerate local climate action. Get in touch with us here to explore how we can support your initiatives!

After securing Green Communities grant funding, Williamstown began looking for a way to develop an interactive website to guide residents in reducing emissions. “We were thrilled to find an organization like MassEnergize that had already developed an interactive website and could provide technical support and networking so we could learn from others,” said Nancy Nylen, a member of the Williamstown COOL Committee.
Energize Williamstown featured on Willinet, a local community television station, to promote its launch.
The initiative’s biggest milestone so far has been the launch of the Energize Williamstown website, which offers residents clear, actionable steps in key focus areas like buildings, transportation, clean energy, solid waste, and natural resources. Outreach efforts have included town-wide mailers, local TV promotions, and upcoming virtual and in-person events to drive engagement.
The team is also encouraging residents to opt up to 100% renewable energy through the town’s community choice electricity aggregation program. By the end of the year, Energize Williamstown hopes to see 500 households sign up and 700 climate actions taken. Residents can get involved by visiting Energize Williamstown, joining the site, and taking action.

Community of Practice
Thank you to everyone who joined our February Community of Practice meeting! We had an engaging session with Kit Wu fromLaminar Collective and Carey Buttfield fromEcoNatick, who shared valuable insights on heat pump trends and the power of Repair Cafés.
Kit provided key updates on heat pump pricing, refrigerant changes, and affordability strategies for 2025, sparking discussions on rising costs, weatherization quality, and ways to advocate for bulk purchasing deals. Carey highlighted how Repair Cafés help reduce waste by fixing everyday items, and with Natick’s 6th event coming up in May, we explored how these events could be paired with energy coaching for even greater impact.
Thank you to everyone who joined our Heat Pump Water Heater Webinar, co-hosted by plugIN and Resilient Swampscott! It was fantastic to see participation from over 10 communities across the state, coming together to learn about this key step in home electrification.
A special thanks to Bob Zogg from theHeat Smart Alliance for sharing his expertise and valuable insights!
