Mayuri, founder of Blue Lilac Skincare, brings a thoughtful and inspiring approach to self-care. Her handcrafted skincare line is designed for sensitive, delicate skin—with formulas that embrace nature’s best ingredients to help you glow through every age and stage of life.

Named after the first flower to bloom in spring, Blue Lilac represents renewal, confidence, and loving the skin you’re in. Mayuri’s products feature skin-identical ingredients like squalane, niacinamide, and sodium hyaluronate to nourish and strengthen the skin barrier. Each formula is microbiome-friendly, small-batch crafted, and free from parabens, sulfates, and artificial fragrances—gentle, effective, and worry-free.

Blue Lilac’s story began with Mayuri’s personal health journey and her mission to create safer, kinder skincare for herself and her family. What started with a simple homemade body butter has blossomed into a full line of plant-based skincare made with love, intention, and science-backed care.

Come meet our newest neighbors, explore their studios, and see what’s new at the Village Arts Factory at the upcoming Village Arts Factory Studio Stroll on Saturday, November 22, from 2:00-4:00 PM. A Celebration of Local Artists

Three Cities Art Club presents a vibrant art exhibit featuring their talented members this October.
Welton%203%20Cities.jpeg

Currently on exhibit at the Village Arts Factory this October, we're proud to feature the Three Cities Art Club. Founded in 1955, the club has grown into a vibrant community of artists and art enthusiasts from across Southeast Michigan, including members from Ann Arbor, Chelsea, South Lyon, Belleville, Milford, and beyond. Visitors to the exhibit will encounter a wide variety of artwork across many mediums. The show includes paintings, drawings, and photography, along with three-dimensional works in fiber, clay, wood, polymer, and collage.

This diversity highlights the broad range of talent within the club and ensures there is something to capture the interest of every visitor. During the exhibition, visitors may also participate in the Popular Vote Drawing by casting a ballot for their three favorite works of art. Each vote counts as an entry into a drawing for a cash prize, with winners selected at the close of the show. It’s an engaging way for the community to connect with the artwork and celebrate the creativity of local artists. Learn more by clicking here!

  • Kelly Jean Church – Renowned birch bark and black ash basket maker celebrated for preserving and advancing Anishinaabe traditional art forms.
  • Marshall Maynard Fredericks – Sculptor best known for monumental public works such as The Spirit of Detroit.
  • Gwen Frostic – Beloved printmaker, naturalist, and entrepreneur whose block prints captured Michigan’s landscapes and wildlife.
  • Thomas Mickell Burnham – Acclaimed portrait painter who documented Michigan's historic transition from territory to statehood through his work.

The Michigan Visual Artists Hall of Fame, established by the Village Arts Factory in Canton, will continue to honor artists whose vision, craftsmanship, and contributions have enriched Michigan’s vibrant visual arts community.

Cherry Hill Business District Update

A Festive Fall in Cherry Hill Village
4068939763507753125(1).jpeg
Fall has arrived in Cherry Hill Village! The air is crisp, the leaves are turning, and our business district is celebrating the season in full color. From festive storefronts to fun fall events, there’s something for everyone happening in the Village this October. Here’s a look at what’s new, what’s coming soon, and how you can join in the autumn fun!

Business District Updates

House of Colour is opening this fall! Katie and Jeanne, who’ve run a successful home‑studio consultancy this past year, are expanding into a storefront in the heart of the Village. House of Colour specializes in seasonal color analysis and personal style profiling. Their in‑studio consultations help clients discover which color palette (Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter) flatters their natural coloring, and which clothing cuts best suit their body shape and style personality.

Hitesh of Village Pharmacy will be moving from their current location next to the Village Grocery to a new space inside the IHA Building on Cherry Hill. This move will enhance access and integrate pharmacy services into the medical community in the building and the community.

Village Development Updates

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes in Cherry Hill Village as we continue to invest in infrastructure and community spaces. Here’s a look at the latest progress:

Public Parking Lot – 50527 Cherry Hill
The new public parking lot next to Indigo Salon & Spa is now open and ready for use! This much-needed addition improves access to local businesses and community events. While the lot is open, please be aware of occasional temporary closures in the coming weeks as final concrete and finishing work is completed.

The Factory Community Center – 50625 Cherry Hill
Construction continues on The Factory, a future hub for creative, recreational, and community programming. Once complete, this space will serve as a vibrant gathering place for all ages and bring new energy to this part of the Village.

Town Square Park Stormwater Ponds
The new stormwater ponds in Town Square Park are now fully operational and functioning as intended. These improvements help manage stormwater runoff and reduce the risk of flooding, while also enhancing the park's natural landscape. Further construction within the park is currently delayed; updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

Preservation Park Pathway Enhancements
Now that the Canton Farmers Market season has concluded, work will begin to improve the walking paths throughout Preservation Park. These upgrades aim to make the park more accessible and enjoyable for daily use throughout the year.

Community & Seasonal Happenings

The Cherry Hill Village Business District is dressed for fall, with festive harvest decorations and beautifully painted windows bringing warmth and color to the streets. Our local businesses are getting into the spirit of the season with special events and community fun:

  • October 20 -- Botox & Brews at Skin Society
  • October 23 -- Bubbles & Blow Outs at Indigo Salon & Spa
  • Scaryoke at Maraschinos Pub -- select Saturdays throughout October
And don’t miss this year’s expanded Kids' Halloween Stroll! More local businesses than ever are participating with treats, costumes, and seasonal surprises for all ages.
