News for you, Melissa.
ICYMI- We hosted a free educational webinar earlier this month!
Brain Inflammation Collaborative hosted afree educational webinar exploring a novel approach to improving brain blood flow and oxygen delivery through the Hi-OxSR sequential rebreather. Alex Stenzler, President of 12th Man Technologies, discussed the mechanisms behind COVID-related cognitive dysfunction, the science of CO2, and its role in regulating brain blood flow.
We also heard from BIC Principal Investigator Dr. Megan Fitzgerald on how digital health platforms like unhide® can transform the way we track progress and evaluate innovative interventions like the rebreather. Watch for an upcoming survey within unhide that includes non-pharmacological interventions, including the rebreather, highlighting the importance of leveraging our platform to track the effects of medical interventions.
Check out some audience questions from the webinar and our speaker's responses here.
Interested in learning more about the rebreather, the science behind this technology, and how it could impact people with Long Covid and other conditions that cause brain fog?

Dr. Megan Fitzgerald, Brain Inflammation Collaborative Principal Investigator, is joining the Scientific Committee for the 3rd Long COVID International Conference, taking place November 19th–21st, 2025, in Boston, MA — hosted as a hybrid event. Congratulations on being selected for the Committee, Megan!
This global conference brings together experts, healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and community leaders to explore the evolving science and impact of Long COVID. The goal is to advance discourse on scientific advances, clinical care, treatment strategies, and public health policy.
The Committee is accepting submissions for oral and poster presentations! Think your research might be a good fit, or know someone doing this critical work? Submissions are due Friday, August 29, 2025. Click here to submit!

The Brain Inflammation Collaborative, in partnership with Solve M.E., is excited to announce the launch of the unhide® Solve Together Unified Platform, a digital health tool designed to uncover hidden connections between inflammation, chronic illness, and overall health.
“We created this platform to empower patients while accelerating research. Together, we’re breaking down silos between diseases like ME/CFS, Long COVID, autoimmune disorders, and mental health—linking them through the common thread of inflammation,” shared BIC Leaders.
Solve M.E. CEO Emily Taylor said, “By joining forces through the Unified Platform, we’re not just combining data—we’re combining hope, purpose, and possibility. This collaboration streamlines research efforts, lowers the cost of research, and opens new doors for scientists who are urgently seeking answers. For the patients and families who’ve waited too long, it brings us one step closer to the breakthroughs they deserve.”
Stay tuned! We’re working hard to continue expanding the United Platform’s reach and strengthening its impact by expanding to include participants under 18 and Spanish-language options.

Thank you for being a part of our community!
The Brain Inflammation Collaborative is dedicated to fueling scientific advancement and hope for all who are impacted by neuroinflammation through research, awareness, advocacy, and partnership.
We support people who are affected by brain inflammation but are often not included in clinical research or trials. We value their health, quality of life, and happiness. We believe better clinical research is key to accessing accurate diagnoses, effective treatments, and quality care for everyone who needs them.
We value patients as partners and leaders, not just participants.
We understand that the barriers to accomplishing these goals are systemic and complex. We believe better research can only be achieved by operating differently.
We prioritize accessibility, transparency, and cultural humility in everything we do. Better processes inform better research.
Better research informs better diagnosis, treatment, and care for all. But we can't do it without you.
