Welcome to Our Bi-weekly Newsletter
Volume 134, "LEAD LIKE ANDREW"
Here's our latest edition with important meetings and other news you can use! Take a look ...
Please share news, tidbits, or notices of upcoming events in your area so we may include them. We also value your feedback on this newsletter and how we may better serve you. Don't hesitate to contact:
When my mother hit one of those "milestone" birthdays, she looked at me and said, "How did I get here so fast?!?" It's a good question; one we might be asking more and more often. To our younger members, the context of those mile markers often rotates around technology advances. The point to all of this is we can find ourselves so busy, we don't take time to give thanks.
The topic of "busy, busy, busy," is a central focus to the October edition of the St. Andrew's Cross. I hope you will take a look at it when it comes out in just a few days. Like this publication, that one has a treasure trove of ideas for parish discussion, chapter meetings and beyond.
One of the things I am very deliberate about is MAKING the time to "Be still and know your God." For me, it involves stilling my mind. Most often it is windshield time on long trips. More than a few times I have found an idea, an answer to an issue, or recognized a blessing. On those road trips often, I will call our National President, Br. Roy, with some epiphany.
What I am trying to share with you is that when we become conscious of quiet time with God things start happening. He knows our every need before we ask. We all know that. So, the question becomes, "what are you prepared to do about that?" As we move further into autumn, Thanksgiving and the rest of the year that can become quite busy my prayer for us is that we make time to be still with God purposefully.
We are "returning home" to our birth site for the next triennial convention. Often over the upcoming editions we will offer the reader a glimpse of things to see in this fabulous town, including hotel options near the cathedral. Hotel options are on the adjoining blocks. To help keep registration cost down, we will hold all convention sessions at the cathedral rather than a hotel.
We will be providing a collection of hotels from which to choose shortly. We will also have a night at Wrigley Field on Wednesday before the convention opens. More information will follow as we get closer to the first of the year.
How Well Do You Know the Bible and the Brotherhood?
Beginning with this issue of the Lead Like Andrew, a monthly quiz will be posted to test your knowledge of the Bible and the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. If you are a current, paid member of the Brotherhood, you may enter the quiz. The person(s) with the most correct answers will be entered into a drawing to win a small prize. The correct answers and the winner's name will be posted in the following month's Saint Andrew's Cross.
Deadline to enter is November 10, 2026. The correct answers and the winner's name will be published in the November 2026 Saint Andrew's Cross. The next new quiz will be available in the November 11, 2026 Lead Like Andrew.
3 Ways to Renew National Dues for 2027 between December 1 and January 31
There are at least three different ways to renew your membership dues for 2027. The official renewal period runs December 1 through January 31. The ways are:
1.Through your chapter by supplying the Chapter Treasurer with payment. Once the chapter has collected all National dues, they can use a November meeting to update their roster, complete the 2026 annual report and return all paperwork with the collected dues to the National Service Center.
2.Individually online via debit card, credit card or PayPal on the Brotherhood website (https://www.brothersandrew.net/donate). You can also set your renewal as an automatic yearly recurring donation by checking the "Make this a yearly donation" box. Make sure you enter the year "2027" in the "Write a Note" box.
3.Individually by USPS with check or by supplying your credit card information (card number, expiration date, 3- or 4-digit security code, name on card as well as the billing person's email address and phone number) to Brotherhood of St. Andrew, P.O. Box 1382, Louisville, KY 40201. When writing a check, please list "2027 Dues" in the memo line.

Scouting Emblem Initiative & Philmont New Testaments Accepting Donations
Learn more about the special Scouting Emblem initiative by clicking HERE
You can also mail a check made to the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, P.O. Box 1382, Louisville, KY 40201. Be sure to write “Religious Emblems” in the memo line.
----------
The Brotherhood Scouting Committee is also accepting donations to help replenish the New Testament stock which is given to participants each summer at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. It is estimated to take $50,000 to supply the ranch for 2027 and 2028. Luckily this whole amount does not fall on the Brotherhood's Scouting Committee but with a combined donation of $2,000 or more, the Brotherhood logo will be printed in the New Testaments.
Make sure you list "Philmont NT" in the Donor Comment box. You can also mail a check made to the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, P.O. Box 1382, Louisville, KY 40201. Be sure to write “Philmont NT” in the memo line.

(YOUR) Help Wanted!!
WE NEED YOUR HELP! And we know that you're out there just waiting to be asked. So, we need to say, join us as a volunteer and help us.
We have a number of volunteer position vacancies that we need your help. Please consider that we need volunteers to fill key positions at the Province, Diocesan, and national ministry levels. It is critical to have local leaders to assist us in these support positions.
The following positions at the Province Level are vacant:
Province I; Province IV: and (Western IV and Eastern IV). All Provinces need Diocesan Coordinators who work with Province Presidents.
We need leaders for several ministry positions.
If you are curious, interested, or know of someone who is "ideal" for a position, call or email Jeff Butcher or Roy Benavides.
Let's spend 20 minutes to pray for the Brotherhood, for our Brothers, and even share some stories of how Prayer has impacted you or someone you know! It's like stopping at the faith service station to fill your prayer tank! It's simple ... we already have the script made out (in our devotional handbook or The Book of Common Prayer)! If you'd like to help lead one of the prayer sessions, contactroy.benavides@brothersandrew.net
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew, the Brooklyn and Queens Assemblies, and the Diocese of Chicago wish to remind you to join the weekly Bible Study on Thursdays. THE BROTHERHOOD OF ST. ANDREW HAS BEEN PART OF THE MEN’S STUDY SERIES KNOWN AS PROJECT 12 FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
Please consider the series as a potential opportunity for your chapter or group of men to study and interact on one of the topics in the Lifeline Series.
“It started on a patio. Two men sat there talking about what God was doing in their lives and ministries. Diverse in more than just age and geography, these two men discussed how building men was not a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all approach There was a desire expressed to gather a group of effective men’s leaders from all over the country to share what God was doing. This was the beginning of the A-Team.
Fast forward to 2014, and over 25 men gathered in the Midwest at a retreat center to learn from each other and celebrate how God was working in their lives to change their communities. One of the outcomes of these conversations was to gather a list of great faithful resources to point men towards to help, teach, and grow.
The Project Twelve concept emerged. Twelve guys following Jesus. Twelve months in a year. Perhaps this group could help men follow Jesus year-round like the original twelve guys did. Welcome to Project Twelve.”
The programs can be found at www.projecttwelve.net. They are called Lifelines. They were just recently released. They are faith-based roadmaps for every generation. According to the outline, each of the six segments has six blocks. If you did one per week, it would last at least 36 weeks. Each is based on the Serendipity Bible.
We are part of the original group that established Project Twelve five years ago. There are seven different denominations/ministries, and 13 individuals who contributed to the writings. There is no charge for tapping into the various programs.
Kathy Copas, our editor, would like to include more news of chapter events and ministry meetings or events. If you have something to share, please send it to
