If you are unable to submit the conference fee because of financial hardship, scholarship funds may be available on a limited basis. Priority is given to first-time applicants. Scholarship funds are made possible by the David L. Strauss Memorial Scholarship Fund and generous contributions from donors.
Please download and complete the application and return the completed application by April 25, 2025. All applicants will receive a scholarship determination email by May 15, 2025.

2025 BIAA National Brain Injury Conference & Awareness Day on Capitol Hill
Each year, the Brain Injury Association of America and other key stakeholders host a Brain Injury Awareness Day on Capitol Hill during Brain Injury Awareness Month in March. Advocates from across the United States head to Washington, D.C., with the goal of educating our legislators about the needs of individuals with brain injury and their supporters.
This year's three-day event event will include a conference at the Hilton Arlington, with free, frequent shuttle service back and forth to the capitol. The conference fee is $35. Fee waivers are available for any survivor or caregiver for whom the fee would be a hardship. Please contact Monica Vaccaro for details. vaccaro@biapa.org
This year's schedule includes:
Monday, March 3: Optional pre-conference activities and a social event
Tuesday, March 4: The National Brain Injury Conference kicks off with a full day of events, including an orientation to the schedule of visits
Wednesday, March 5: Meet with congressional representatives to advocate for brain injury causes The deadline to register is February 14th.

Jennifer is a Lifestyle & Communications Expert. Her expertise is in strategic networking, communications, leadership, resilience, and business etiquette.

January is Winter Sports TBI Awareness Month ❄️❄️❄️
Winter sports can be dangerous, specifically regarding the risk of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). In addition to winter sports, slips and falls due to ice and slippery conditions can happen as well.
It's important to wear a helmet for sledding, skiing and other high impact winter sports!

Research Study Participant Opportunity
Have you had a brain injury & experience trouble sleeping?
Saint Joseph's University Occupational Therapy is looking for participants to complete a virtual research study investigating the effects of a telehealth mindfulness meditation program on sleep quality and anxiety in individuals with acquired brain injury (stroke, TBI, concussion, etc.) living in the community.

The BIAPA statewide virtual support group will meet Thursday, February 20 at 5 PM. This tight-knit community consists of survivors, caregivers, family and professionals from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! Please use thisZoom Link to access the meeting.
BIAPA's next Caregiver Support Group will be held on Wednesday February 12 at 6pm. This monthly, virtual meeting is open to all caregivers. The meetings are an excellent opportunity for caregivers to meet one another, share experiences and discuss topics of unique relevance to their roles. No pre-registration is required!
