In 2025, across Hawai‘i, there have been three people killed while riding their bicycles, nearly a dozen pedestrians, as well as serious injuries for vulnerable road users. More than ever, we must lean into a safe systems approach for transportation.

Volunteer at Zach’s Ride and Haleʻiwa Metric Century

On Sunday March 23rd, HBL staff will be hosting two Aid Stations at the Mid Pacific Road Runners Club’s Windward Half Marathon & 5k. You may recognize MPRRC as the adoption team of our Kahuku and Triangle Park Aid Stations. If you’d like to help, please register here or email vincent@HBL.org.

On April 5th, Zach’s Ride needs volunteers to help set up and tear down at Kaka‘ako Makai Gateway Park. Sign up here.

From April 24th to April 27th the 2025 Haleʻiwa Metric Century is in full swing and needs helpers at Packet Pickup and on event day. Sign up here. More details about various volunteer roles here. 

The Camp Erdman Aid Station is in need of adoption on Sunday, April 27th! A group of 6-8 volunteers is needed. Click here for more details, or email vincent@HBL.org.

Kiser Dragon & Big Island Gran Fondo

"Hawaii Cycling Club presents the Kiser Dragon Saturday, March 29 and the Big Island Gran Fondo Saturday, April 19. The Dragon features 9 short, steep hill climbs with points awarded for finishing positions in MU60, M+60, FU60, F+60 categories. The Big Island Gran Fondo includes a challenging Century, a super Metric Century, and several shorter rides. Come visit the Big Island in March or April for a change of scenery. Tantalus Time Trial on 3/30/25

"The 50th Tantalus Time Trial is scheduled for March 30th, starting at 7am on Makiki Heights Drive just before the Hawaii Nature Center driveway. The Finish is at the top of Tantalus Drive, near the Puu Ohia trailhead parking lot. Registration is now open. Direct questions to tradewindcyclingteam@gmail.com or 808-285-3934."
