With Sincere Gratitude to Shelter, Inc.'s Team

September is Child Welfare Workforce Appreciation Month. This month, we recognize the dedication and hard work of child welfare professionals who strive to protect and support vulnerable children and families.

Please join us in saluting Shelter, Inc.'s committed team of professionals who support our mission and work hard every day to change and save lives.

Our social workers, case managers, foster care providers, therapists and advocates play a critical role in ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of children who may be facing abuse, neglect, or other challenges. Shelter, Inc.’s staff work tirelessly to create safe environments, provide critical services, and work towards family reunification or finding permanent, loving homes for children in need. Their work not only changes the lives of the children and families they serve but also strengthens our community as a whole. This month, we recognize and celebrate their dedication, compassion, and the vital difference they make every day. Thank you!

Your commitment to children and families in our community is powerful. It moves us ever closer to our vision of all children being raised in safe and nurturing homes.

Making an Impact on the Health of Our Community and Our Planet

In early September, Executive Director, Carina H. Santa Maria, visited SI Container Builds with CEO, Rory Rubin. Shelter, Inc. is working in partnership with SI Container Builds, a woman-owned business, to construct our new home for child survivors of human trafficking. Each year 23 million shipping containers go to waste. Using these steel containers to build new homes is a sustainable and creative solution to help those who are unhoused.
