It's almost here! Join us for a fun morning on June 7, 2025 at Glasgow Park for our Freedom From Seizures 5K North to help raise awareness and support the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware. Register to run, walk, or form a team, come to cheer on the racers, or donate to one of our fundraisers! However you choose to support our mission, it's greatly appreciated!
An Evening With EFDE: Masquerade was a big success thanks to everyone who came out to Schellville Village to celebrate, our dedicated committee, our loyal sponsors (Nemours Children's Health, UCB, Schell Brothers, Clean Energy USA, R. Short Roofing, Doyle Electric Services, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, SK Life Sciences, Neurelis and Brian Bartley), the generous organizations that donated food, drinks and desserts (The Starboard, Bethany Blues, Wheelhouse, Mulligan's, JD Shuckers, Highwater Management, Henlopen Pizza Kitchen, SoDel Concepts, and Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant), and all those who donated items to the auction and raffles. We're already excited to celebrate with our community next year!
2025 Delaware Epilepsy Warrior
Congratulations to Gabriella Tantillo, 2025 Delaware Epilepsy Warrior Award winner! Gabriella has been involved with EFDE for 10 years, since first coming to a support group in Dover as a teen. Now a member of the EFDE Board, she is also an ambassador for the Epilepsy Foundation of America. Gabriella continues to impact the community by raising awareness and educating others about epilepsy. She earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling last May, allowing her to support not only the overall population, but the epilepsy community as well. Gabriella, thank you for all you do and congratulations!

I've been a member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware Board since 2018. As a Registered Nurse, I believe it's important to focus on how nurses can best support people with epilepsy and raise awareness about the condition. I also serve as President of the Delaware Nurses Association (DNA), where I bring these issues to the board for discussion, particularly through the DNA Advocacy Committee, which focuses on policy and legislation in Delaware.
One of my favorite activities with the Epilepsy Foundation is the 5K Walk. I love seeing the “teams” and often run into friends, neighbors, and coworkers among the participants. I also attended last year’s Gala, which was an incredible experience. I brought my family (a group of seven), and we had a fantastic time reconnecting with friends and enjoying the evening.
