Looking Back at a Summer of Impact
Through hot summer days, joy-filled ministry, road construction, tiring stretches, games of soccer, nail-biter lessons and stories, small, quiet clubs and big, energetic groups - and everything in between - God showed up as kids heard the Gospel through 5-Day Clubs all around our area! We're so excited by the ways the impact of the Gospel is growing in the Great River Chapter. |
Looking Back at 5-Day Clubs |
We just wrapped up six weeks of impactful ministry through 5-Day Clubs! CEF Summer Missionaries led clubs in backyards, parks, churches, and communities to reach kids with the Gospel in a fun environment. |

Salvations and assurances |
The impact of the Gospel is growing. 12 new club locations saw ministry impact kids who need the Gospel!
At one new club hosted by our team at a local park, a mom and a daughter came to the playground on Wednesday a while after our 10AM start time. Our team invited them to join the club - our first attendee of the week. Even with just one child, our summer missionaries built a relationship, played games, and were able to share a Bible lesson with her even though our official club time was almost over. Once we wrapped up, the girl's mom took her home and came back to speak with our team. She shared she and her daughter were only in town visiting a relative for the day. Emotional, she said how deeply the club blessed her, and that she was so impacted by the boldness our team displayed in sharing the Gospel, even with just her daughter. "I've been blessed, and I know my daughter has been blessed too because you were willing to share this with her!"
Even at a club where no other kids attended that week, God used that interaction to show us how He uses even small, short interactions to bless and point others to Him. Our purpose that week? Spend hours waiting in the park with no attendees just to make a one-day impact on one little girl who needed to hear the Gospel. Pray for Isabella!*

"I prayed throughout the summer that one girl who believed in Jesus last summer at a club would come to club again, as she was from a rough home and stopped going to church...She did, and was counseled for assurance the first day! It was easy to tell she hadn't forgotten about her decision to believe...she wanted to grow closer to God."
-Alissa, summer staff
"There were no kids on the first day, but we prayed and more kids came the second day."
-Britta, summer missionary |
"The weather was humid and in the 90s, which made me exhausted but God was fueling me for clubs and gave me the motivation I needed." - Malachi, summer missionary
"Only one kid came to club, but her family made connections with the host and will start attending church!" - Mylie, summer staff
"Two girls believed in Jesus!" - Lydia, summer missionary |
"We saw kids that weren't intending to come show up and hear the Gospel, so awesome! We saw relationships built between kids that I think will help to foster Gospel conversations to come." - Riley, club host
The team was always available before/after club time. One boy said his favorite thing was talking to them after club!" -Kristi, club host |

Looking Forward to More Ministry |
|
We're so excited about what God is doing through CEF Great River. As we turn to school-year ministry, would you pray for the 77 elementary schools in our territory? Our vision is to reach more and more of them through school-year Good News Club ministry!
As our returning teams gear up for impact in several schools and as we work with churches, Christians, and school districts to reach more children this school year, we can't wait to see what God has in store. |
If you or your church are interested in learning how you can adopt a local elementary school and make an impact, while also building relationships with your community and school, reach out! Our heart is to equip churches and Christians with the tools they need to make an impact.

Director's Note
Thanks for praying for a summer of impact - God worked in mighty ways. It's been incredible to see that the impact of the Gospel is growing - meeting 5-Day Club hosts who are so excited to reach their community, connect with churches who are passionate about outreach, disciple teens who are ready to boldly proclaim their faith throughout the summer has been a joy. Will you continue to pray for the kids that were reached, and that will be reached this school year?
God is at work. Thanks for seeking Him on our behalf!
For the Gospel,
Peter |
