Plead My Mother's Tears
Do Not Abandon My Church
“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Mt 16:18)
Several articles have appeared lately detailing the decline in church attendance among Christians in the United States. The decline among Catholics is attributed in large part to the clergy sex scandals, and to the pandemic when all churches closed for a while.
Can you imagine Christ looking at His scattered sheep and His poor battered Church? Might He say:
"Do not abandon My Church! Rather pray for it and offer it to the Father, covered in My Blood and in the blood of all My Martyrs --the physical and mystical blood that atones and cleanses. Plead the tears of My Mother and of all the hearts that love Me, that it may be purified and raised."
Jesus, we trust in You.
September 1, 2023 Mission of Divine Mercy
Today is the First Friday in September on which we pray in reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:“the Heart that has loved men so and is loved so little in return.”
Tomorrow is the First Saturday on which we honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In the Gospel of Luke, Simeon prophesied that Mary would share in the sufferings of her Son and Redeemer, Jesus. He tells her “A sword will pierce through your own soul.” __________________

Scapular Investiture
Every First Saturday of the month we have a simple Rite of Investiture with the Brown Scapular after our 8 AM Mass for all those interested. Please bring your own Scapular or you may acquire one at our Sacramental building, which is open whenever the Mission grounds are open.

OBEDIENCE ?
In these confusing times, how are we to understand the virtue of obedience? In this talk we will reflect on examples from Scripture, the Catechism, Aquinas and others in an effort to understand the Mystery of the Church, and how we are called to live obedience.

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

My husband Marcus and I went for the first time to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on August 20 at the Mission of Divine Mercy. We were speechless for a while after Mass. The reverence. The music.
